The mornings are cooler now. Roxy would have loved this bit of the year. Here is Roxy on her first run off leash with her mentor Monty leading the way.
She always had a bit more spring in her step once the heat backed off.

35+ years of rescuing big and bull breed dogs, and it's still the small, ordinary mornings that stay with you the longest.

Happy National Dog Day to every rescue. Today is for the dogs who almost didn't make it. 🐾

Roxy was our French Mastiff, rescued from a puppy mill with hours to live. She came to us broken.
