Over the past three decades, we've learnt so much. Our years of experience have given us invaluable insight into what truly makes a difference: listening, building meaningful relationships, and putting the people we support at the heart of everything we do. ✨

Thirty years on, we're still driven by the same purpose: helping people across Herefordshire live independently, with dignity, choice and confidence.

Have you ever wondered why some of our Support Workers wear a uniform, while others are dressed in everyday clothes? 💙

The answer is simple: because the people we support are at the heart of every decision we make. Our Homecare Support Workers wear a uniform to provide reassurance and help people feel confident that the person arriving at their door is someone they know and trust. Meanwhile, our Independent Living at Home (ILH) Support Workers often wear everyday clothing, allowing support to feel as natural and unobtrusive as possible when out in the community. For many people, this helps promote choice, privacy and independence, ensuring they can enjoy everyday life in the way that feels most comfortable to them.🏡

At SIL, we know that there's no one-size-fits-all approach to care. By tailoring the way we work to each individual's wishes and needs, we can provide support that feels personal, respectful and empowering, because that's exactly how it should be. 💙

After five incredible years with SIL, it's time for us to say goodbye to our wonderful Head of Finance, Peter, as he begins his well-earned retirement.🫂

Over the last five years, Peter has made an enormous impact on SIL. His expertise, dedication and hard work have helped shape our charity, but it's his kindness, sense of humour and willingness to always lend a helping hand that have made him such a valued colleague and friend to so many of us.💙

We were incredibly proud to see Peter recognised as Financial Controller of the Year 2024, a testament to the exceptional work and commitment he has shown throughout his career. 🏆

Peter, thank you for everything you've done for SIL. You've left a lasting mark on our charity, and we have been so lucky to have you as part of our team.
