In fact a lot of the time, a conversation doesn't need to be had at all, because we just know. πŸ’

Some conversations feel like exhaling after holding your breath for years.

When someone has walked a path similar to yours, you spend less time explaining your pain and more time feeling seen, understood, and reminded that healing doesn’t have to be a lonely journey.

What's something that keeps you balanced?

I have lots of things in my tool box and one is going out on my bike.

I was a determined little wotsit when I was a child and learnt to ride without stabilisers when I was three.

I'd go out and about on my bike all the time.

I even remember "leaving home" once when I was about 6 and putting all of my Mr Men books in my pannier box so that I had something to read. (Reading is another medicine for me.)

I love cycling in all of the seasons and seeing the changes taking place.

I'm very lucky to live in a village with countryside on my doorstep.

This morning my daughter came with me and we had a gentle 10K bimble.

We got covered in barley? Hay? Not sure exactly at one point as a haystack sped past us which was rather amusing.

I'm so grateful for the ability to use my limbs and having eyesight to see beautiful things.

Even a disused farmyard with graffiti πŸ™‚

I was deeply saddened to hear of the death of Glen Hansard yesterday.

I loved the film The Commitments. I found it so immersive and wanted to be part of the band.

Glen's character was lovely and reading so many tributes about him, shows that, in real life, he was pretty special.

I have always loved Irish music, it's part of my heritage thanks to an ancestor on my paternal line maybe? Who knows, but I hadn't followed up on Glen after the film, so didn't know about his music.

I listened to The Frames on Spotify last night and liked what I heard.

It's sad that after his death, I'll be listening to and enjoying his music but I guess that's also lovely because his legacy will carry on, as I bet I'm not the only one.

He was only a couple of years older than me and it's another poke to enjoy my life as much as I am able to, because we never know when our time is up.

When we administer self compassion and cheer ourselves on, rather than beat ourselves up, the changes are phenomenal.

That feeling of wearing a heavy cloak of doom, falls away bit by bit.

We. Are. Worth. The. Work.
