We need the community for this!

We MUST raise £800 to replace one of our oldest public access defibrillators, located at The Puckersley Inn Narrowgate Brow, Royton.

This defibrillator was generously donated to Defibrillators Save Lives by local Royton Councillors, as a second-hand unit a number of years ago and has faithfully served the local community ever since. Unfortunately, it has now reached the end of its operational life, and replacement parts are no longer available, meaning it must be replaced.

Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly towards purchasing a new life-saving defibrillator to ensure the community continues to have access to this vital equipment in an emergency.

Whether you can donate £1 or £100, every contribution brings us one step closer to protecting lives.

A question we get asked often is do we need to give breaths? Or, is this not a thing of the past? They don't really do anything do they?

Well, yes they do!

If you are willing, able and trained to do so, then ventilations do increase the chances of survival.
The focus needs to be foremost on high quality compressions, and then ventilations to give the patient the best chance of survival - combine this with an early shock, if needed, and you've done everything you can!

Jolly Josh are holding their first ever Live Lounge next week at Defiance Spirits, Spotland Mill. Our first aider, Scott, will be drumming with his band The Tails who are headlining the event. Radio Manchester's Emma Goswell will be the host for the evening, with fabulous supporting bands too. Definitely an evening not to miss.
