I truly wish I didn’t have to make a post like this. But here we are.

I want to ensure that all of my clients and future clients are aware that my room is in a building with unisex toilets.

Two toilets - one upstairs and one downstairs - neither are gendered. Both are single rooms with a basin and hand dryer inside.

My clients’ comfort while coming for therapy is extremely important to me.

Please ask me if you’re unsure where they are.

I also offer fully online counselling, for those who prefer.

It’s been a whole year since Liverpool Q***r Minds moved to our new space on Hope Street!

Just over a year ago I walked into this room with its blank walls, both nervous and excited. My one wish was to have a space that clients could feel at home in.

Now, it feels lived in, grounded, warm and filled with stories.

It’s made me reflective of how much courage, curiosity, pain, hope, and healing has existed, and continues to, within these four walls.

This room has seen tears, long silences, belly laughter, breakthroughs, uncertainty, exhaustion, and moments where people finally felt able to say something out loud.

I feel incredibly grateful for the trust people place in me within this work. I think one of the things therapy reminds me of most is how deeply human we all are beneath everything we carry.

Here’s to many more years in our lovely room 💜

What’s in my counselling room?

When you walk into my counselling room, I don’t want you to feel like you’ve stepped into a service.
I want you to feel met, as a person, not a problem to be solved.

There are blankets to wrap around you, fidget toys to hold, books that remind you who you are, and small, gentle things that help you breathe a little easier. Knowing this space is here for you, when you need it.

Someone you love has shared a part of themselves with you. They’ve ’come out’ and they’re hoping you’ll understand…

For them, that moment might have felt terrifying, full of uncertainty, fear, or relief. They’ve trusted you with something deeply real.

But what about you?

You might need space too, to process what’s changed, to make sense of your feelings, or to understand more about what being q***r really means.

Maybe it’s your child, your partner, or someone close to you who’s come out, and it’s brought up questions about love, family, faith, safety, or even your place in the world.

I’m Rach, a q***r counsellor who supports not only the LGBTQ+ community, but also the people who love them.

In my sessions, here in Liverpool, and online across the globe, there’s room for every feeling, every question, every worry, even the ones that feel hard to say out loud.

You don’t have to have the right words.
You just have to start where you are.

We don’t rush your healing here.
We meet it, slowly, together.

You were never broken.
You learned to hold a lot by yourself.

Therapy isn’t about ‘fixing’
it’s about letting someone in to what’s real.

The tears that never had company.
The parts that still brace for rejection.
The tenderness that never stopped wanting to be met.

Here, we go gently, with warmth, presence, and care.
Together, we meet what was never meant to be faced alone.

This Sunday, Liverpool comes together for Trans Pride 🏳️‍⚧️

12:30pm March begins
1pm Speeches at Derby Square

Alongside the march, you can also visit the Liverpool Trans Pride Bazaar at LUSH Liverpool (38-46 Church St), 11-5. The events room is elevator-accessible, with artists, makers and community stalls.

If you feel the need to pause during the day, think about:
🏳️‍⚧️ Drinking water or having a snack.
🏳️‍⚧️ Stepping aside into a quieter space when you need to.
🏳️‍⚧️ Take a moment to feel your feet on the ground
🏳️‍⚧️ Affirm that you are worthy, and you are enough, exactly as you are

However you show up, marching, browsing, or simply being present, you are enough, and you are welcome.

Whether you’re dancing in the streets, watching from the sidelines, setting boundaries, or just getting through the day… your Pride is real.

There is no one right way to be q***r.
No one right way to belong.
You don’t have to perform it.
You don’t have to explain it.
Just being here is enough.

You are deeply valid.

🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 Happy Liverpool Pride - with love, rage, rest and solidarity.
