FOREHEAD FILLER. Yes, it’s a thing 💉

This patient had an indent in her forehead that always bothered her. It’s one of those things you notice every time you look in the mirror and just wish wasn’t there 🪞

All that was needed was a bit of filler placed carefully to smooth and reshape the area, and voila! The indent is gone.

The result is so subtle and so pretty. 😍

BUT…the forehead is one of the riskiest areas to treat for filler in the entire face. It has arteries that connect directly to the ophthalmic arteries.

This means if filler goes into the wrong place, it can cause irreversible vision loss. I’m not trying to scare you away from this treatment, but it is the reality when it’s done without proper care.

That’s exactly why I will not touch the forehead without ultrasound. I need to see exactly where my cannula is in relation to those vessels before I inject anything. Every single time. Non-negotiable.

⚠️ If you’re considering forehead filler, please make sure your injector is using ultrasound. It matters more here than anywhere else.

Stockholm marathon - in the bag! 🇸🇪

And deary me, it was PUNISHING 🥵
25 degrees, humid and HILLY. And it was PACKED!

I stopped at EVERY aid station, hugged my cousin all three times I went past, and had a boogie at the rave tents. No PB this time, but sometimes you gotta go with the vibe 🥰

Yes, my cousin is certifiably insane, and we had the most wholesome weekend and I’m so grateful ❤️

A HEALTHY GLOW??? Not quite…☀️🧴

I know people hate hearing this, but there is no such thing as a ‘healthy tan.’ A tan is literally your skin going into defence mode. 😭

And the frustrating part is that the damage often doesn’t properly show itself until years later. People think they’ve gotten away with it because they’re young and their skin still looks decent.

Then suddenly:

MALE JAWLINE FILLER? 👨💉

FILLER FOR JOWLS??? 🤨

There’s a huge difference between disguising something and actually improving it. And I think social media is always blurring this line.

A lot of before and afters online are really showing camouflage rather than true correction. Which is fine! Camouflage has value, BUT patients should know the difference.

Too much filler can very quickly make things look heavy, especially in the lower face.

The best aesthetic outcomes usually come from knowing the limits of a treatment, not trying to force filler to do a job it was never designed to do.

Can a small amount of filler be used to improve jowls in the right patient? 100%.

But trying to recreate a surgical result with filler? That’s where people can run into trouble.

“SALMON S***M FACIALS”? 🐟💦 Yep… 🤮 that’s gotta be one of the worst marketing terms ever created.

It sounds outrageous, which is obviously why some people have latched onto it. But I do think these kinds of treatments end up getting massively overhyped because of that kind of branding.

A treatment can be:
✅ Mildly helpful
✅ Reasonably safe
✅ Useful in the right patient

…without being revolutionary.

Not everything has to be the “next big thing” or some magical age-reversing breakthrough.

For me, polynucleotides fall into the category of supportive treatments. Potentially nice for skin quality, tissue support, and regeneration when used appropriately. But subtle.

And subtle isn’t a bad thing by the way!

I think social media has just distorted people’s expectations to the point where everyone expects a single treatment to completely transform their face. That’s not how good aesthetics works.

I’m curious where people stand on these 👀

PSA: nobody should hate their own smile 📣
