**A Proud Mum & Dad Moment: Celebrating the Successful Launch of Thrive Magazine Issue 3 and Thrive Media**
There have been several moments in my life when I have had to take a step back, pause, reflect, and all I could do was express endless gratitude. In those moments, my favourite words are:
“Thank You, Lord.”
"It is truly an honour and privilege to serve, and it is more blessed to give than to receive."
The successful launch of *Thrive Magazine Issue 3* and the official launch of *Thrive Media* was one of those unforgettable moments — not only for me, but for our entire family.
In these special photos, you will see a proud, blessed and humble mum and dad holding all three issues of *Thrive Magazine* at the launch of Issue 3 — a magazine founded by our inspirational first daughter, Latoya Likambi, at the age of 16, with my support, guidance and mentorship. To be present there as parents, once again, holding the evidence of her vision, faith, consistency, courage and creativity, while also witnessing the unparalleled impact and transformation in the lives of her peers, was immensely fulfilling and incredibly powerful.
This was far from just another magazine launch. It was the celebration of a seed that was sown, nurtured, nourished and protected until it began to flourish and bear fruit that benefits a multitude.
Latoya’s journey has been one of purpose, passion and bold faith. From a tender age, we recognised, acknowledged and nurtured her uniqueness — a special gift from God, a compelling voice and message to the world, and a desire to create, lead, inspire and impact others. As parents, we made the wise decision to intentionally nurture those gifts. We chose to be fully present, to guide, train, encourage and mentor her. We listened, sought understanding, and believed in her and her divine calling. Most importantly, we chose to invest our time, wisdom, prayers and resources into supporting her to become who God created her to be.
Today, and on several other occasions, seeing Latoya stand as a founder, visionary, multi-award-winning entrepreneur, three-time international best-selling author, public speaker, and creative and transformational leader reminds me of the importance of parents being actively involved in their children’s journey. This was not taught in school; it was nurtured and given the space to grow and flourish naturally. ✨️
Our children carry infinite treasures within them. Oftentimes, those treasures are hidden behind curiosity, questions, creativity, words, confidence, sensitivity, bold ideas, or even things we do not immediately understand. But when we take the time to be fully present, observe, notice, listen, guide and mentor them, we begin to unlock their greatest gifts, talents, passions and life purpose. And when we nurture those gifts, talents and passions with love, discipline, faith and wisdom, we awaken an unquenchable light and force within them that reveals their brilliance and makes them unstoppable!
I am also incredibly proud, honoured and blessed to extend this support, love, mentorship and wisdom not only to Latoya, but also to the most amazing and remarkably grounded visionary business partner she could ever have — someone she calls friend, and someone I confidently call “my niece”: the one and ONLY super-intelligent and highly gifted Joy Baraza, as they step into this new chapter with Thrive Media.
Joy is an inspirational creative, writer, podcast host and visionary, and together they represent a new generation of young, transformational and purpose-driven leaders and positive role models for young people around the world. They are building platforms, creating opportunities, and amplifying the voices of other young visionaries.
As a mother, aunty, mentor, leader and woman of immense faith, this journey is evidence that success does not happen overnight. Neither is it an accident, privilege, or luck.
On the contrary, success is intentional, predictable, teachable, and replicable.
Latoya and Joy, just as they have benefited from the many who have been there for them and continue to do so, are now stepping out to do the same for their generation. They believe in the creative spirit and brilliance of young people.
Behind every thriving young leader, there is often someone ( or a few people) who believed before the world saw it. Someone who prayed. Someone who encouraged. Someone who corrected and disciplined with love. Someone who opened doors and shut other doors of distraction. Someone who stayed consistent. Someone who never gave up on the vision.
Over the years, I have had many parents ask me:
“How do you do all that you do?”
How do you support your children so seamlessly?
How do you raise three visionary young leaders and leading voices in today’s world?
How do you help them become multiple-time best-selling authors and entrepreneurs?
How do you balance purpose, family, marriage, business and ministry so well?
How do you build a truly grounded, loving and successful marriage while still raising children who are confident, focused and purpose-driven?
My answer has always been rooted in faith, intentionality, vision, mentorship, discipline, love and presence.
But now, I believe the time has come to share more.
Because if there is one thing I know, it is this: our children need parents who are present, confident and fully believe in and support them. They need parents who are willing to see beyond the ordinary and call out the greatness within them. They need parents who will not crush or ignore their dreams, but help shape them. They need parents who will provide wisdom, structure, encouragement, resources and opportunities for them to maximise their full potential and thrive.
They need us.
So, to every parent reading this: your child is highly gifted and exceptional. Your child has infinite potential lying dormant, waiting to be unlocked. Your child has divine purpose and is destined for greatness. Your role in their life is not optional, but fundamental. You are not here to force them into your own dream or compare them with others, but to help them discover, develop and deploy the infinite gifts and treasures already placed inside them.
The launch of *Thrive Magazine Issue 3* and *Thrive Media* is a testimony of what happens when young people are believed in, mentored and given the opportunities and platforms to grow.
I am super proud of Latoya and Joy. I am proud of every young visionary who was present during the launch, and all those represented through this platform. And I am grateful to everyone who came to support, celebrate and stand with us at this milestone event.
To the parents who have been asking if I can teach on raising visionary children, nurturing young leaders, building a purpose-driven family, supporting young authors and entrepreneurs, and balancing family, marriage and impact... guess what?
The time is here. The time is now.
