❤️ Are you prepared?

It might surprise you to know that around 80% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests in the UK happen at home . That means, if you're ever called on to give CPR, it’s most likely to be to a loved one.

❤️ We don’t say this to scare you - we say it to empower you. Learning CPR and first aid as a parent gives you the confidence to act quickly and calmly in an emergency.

❤️ Our friendly, baby and child first aid classes are designed with parents like you in mind - practical, reassuring, and fun!

❤️ Because there’s no greater peace of mind than knowing you’d know what to do when it matters most.

😱 Did any of these surprise you? How many did you get right? Let us know in the comments.

Expecting a little one this month?

💎Their birthstones are the dreamy moonstone, the timeless pearl, and the magical alexandrite.
🌹Their flower is the rose, and they’ll be either a curious Gemini or a caring Cancer, depending on when they arrive. ♋️♊️

Paul Scott's family performed CPR and used a defibrillator on him while they waited for paramedics to arrive.

My experience with Daisy First Aid was excellent. Claire delivered an engaging and meaningful class to my S3 childcare class. She was professional yet relaxed and made the pupils feel at ease. She taught invaluable skills and was extremely knowledgable in all areas. The pupils have not stopped talking about it!

“I feel so much more confident now.”

🌼 This is one of the main things we hear after parent and carer class.

Yes, you can Google symptoms and watch videos online. But when it comes to an emergency, nothing compares to actually practising the skills yourself.

From CPR to choking, our classes are hands-on, relaxed, friendly and designed for real life parenting.

You’ll leave knowing what to do, and feeling confident you can do it.

If you want to find out how to book a class head to our website daisyfirstaid.com and click on ‘find a class’ to get in touch with your local Daisy trainer.

Coeliac disease affects around 1 in 100 children and is an autoimmune condition where eating gluten damages the gut.
It’s not just a preference or a trend, and even tiny amounts can cause problems.

Some signs can be easy to miss, including:
• tummy pain or bloating
• constipation or diarrhoea
• tiredness
• poor growth
• mouth ulcers
• mood or behaviour changes

Unlike severe allergies, coeliac disease doesn’t usually cause a sudden emergency, but it does mean parents and carers need to be really aware of what children are eating and how food is prepared.

Things like checking labels, avoiding cross-contamination, and communicating with other adults become part of everyday life.

The good news? With the right knowledge, it quickly becomes manageable and children can still enjoy all the fun that comes with parties and play dates.

May is Coeliac awareness month. If you’d like to know more head to gutscharity.co.uk
