Revision surgery is always challenging, whether in body contouring or facial plastic surgery but it is also where we learn the most and often achieve the most rewarding results.

This patient had liposuction elsewhere several years ago, which left significant scar tissue across the back. Working through this required precision, patience and careful fat purification before re-injection to improve the shape and volume of the gluteal area.

I am very proud of this result, and especially of the patient’s discipline in following the recovery protocol. The result speaks for itself.

Meet Dr Stefano Cotrufo.

Originally from Naples, Dr Cotrufo trained and worked across Italy, the UK, Brazil and the US before building his own practice in London.

Today, he performs a wide range of Plastic, Maxillofacial and Reconstructive procedures.

His PhD and most his published scientific work focuses on facial plastic surgery.

At the same time Dr Cotrufo holds the largest personal portfolio of Fat Injection to the Gluteal area in UK: his approach is described as VASER BBL.

Dr Cotrufo started introduced the Deep Plane Approach to Face and Neck Lifting in 2018 following a fellowship in New York with Dr Andrew Jacobo.

Ever since he extended the application of the Deep Plane approach to Mid Face, eyelids and lip lift surgery.
Patients often describe him as honest, calm and reassuring — someone who listens carefully, explains clearly and puts people at ease throughout their surgical journey.

His philosophy is simple:
