🥰 Life currently has settled into a predictable routine. Pretty much every day I go to the hospital to keep an eye on things as I wait for my surgery. There are 2 surgeons so it’s been harder getting it locked into the calendar 🤞🏽 Some days are much better than others. I don’t like going very far & am nervous being out. I am more limited in the choices I can make right now (even the park is a gamble & I haven’t been able to go in over a week now) so I don’t feel very independent, but we’re working around it.

We’ve thrown ourselves into home school (always a little fight), life lessons, bakugans (he’s teaching me) & taste testing which supermarket sells the best jam donut (M&S). I’ve embraced UK knitwear, slippers, dressing for hospital appointments & knocking around the house in outfits without a soul to see. I had zero clothes with me suitable for an unplanned 🇬🇧 winter stay & have made firm friends with UK online shopping (outfit all UK Online ) 🥰🤣 My birthday presents haven’t been worn out of the house & I wonder if life will ever be fancy enough to use them 🥰 We miss 🧑🏻‍💻 & Dubai & really hoping this surgery can get done soon so I have a shot at getting back after Xmas 🙏🏼 How about you? 🤣🥰😘

😉🇬🇧

Why taking accountability for your own health is one of the most important things you can do for yourself and how you can do it. One of the many things cancer taught me right here....

When we are faced with situations where things don’t go according to plan, there are so many learning opportunities. Cancer is one of those experiences.

Www.myultimatehealthproject.blogspot.com. Link to the blog post is also in my bio. I started my ultimate health project 12 weeks ago after my Cancer treatment concluded and I wanted to focus on rebuilding myself mentally and physically. I was basically a wreck on all fronts and had lost any sense of myself. It was a way of me finding myself again after some of the dark days I had. On Monday I have my PET scan and next week I will find out if my treatment was successful. I'm not and never will be grateful for Cancer but I am grateful for the perception it has given me and the journey it's brought me on and the people I've met along the way. So hopeful for the future but just doing my thing and living in the here and now which is a pretty amazing place to be!

Carrot and lemon juice. This has pretty much been my day. Juicing, juicing, juicing. Have felt terrible today with my cold/ flu combined with trying to get back to NYC from Chicago. So no workout today which I didn't have time or the strength for. Firm believer that food is more medicine than anything else we can take and so have been downing vegetables like they are going out of fashion. Let's hope they have worked for tomorrow morning!!

I'm not exactly happy that Cancer happened to me, but those are the cards I've been dealt and I'm dealing with it my way. I choose to be grateful for all the amazing things I have in my life, how I've been able to live it and continue to seek out people and things that bring happiness and joy in my life. I could sit here and feel terribly sorry for myself (sometimes for very short periods of time I do) but it's not going to change a single thing and everyone has s**t to deal with. So go find happiness!

Yesterday's _______________________________________M1 - healthy chocolate & almond butter overnight oats and chia. Topped with a banana and toasted quinoa. M2 Gluten free toasted muffins with avocado and scrambled eggs. I scramble my eggs with herbs and spices only. I did not enjoy my eggs as much as usual. Will be going back to the lazy poached version I usually do. M3 - Salmon and spinach salad. M4 - avocado quinoa with roasted vegetables and balsamic glaze. M5 - fruit. Based on the H.E.L.P guide that is 5 grains, 2 fruits, 5 vegetables, 2.5 (if protein powder counts) protein, probably about 4 of healthy fats and 0 dairy. _______________________________________This is hugely revealing to me on a daily basis. I'm not following the guide diligently but it does show me that if you're not thoughtful about what you're eating it's super easy to wander off track and still think you're eating healthy. So for example I don't eat meat and I sometimes find my healthy fat intake increases if my overall protein consumption goes down and vice versa. I don't eat dairy so I never pay any attention to that. Does anyone else food track like this? What do you guys see? Really interested if you've spotted habits that you have ...
