Perimenopause can start at 35. Most women have no idea.
It is not a sudden change. It is a slow hormonal shift — oestrogen and progesterone beginning to fluctuate — that can start a decade before your last period. And the symptoms it produces are so varied, so easy to explain away, that most women spend years attributing them to stress, anxiety or just getting older.
Waking at 2am with your mind already running. Anxiety that feels new and unfamiliar. Periods that have changed. Brain fog that frightens you. Hair coming out more than it used to. Weight settling around your middle despite nothing changing. Mood that feels disproportionate. A body that feels older than it should.
These are not separate problems. They are one hormonal transition showing up everywhere at once.
The reason most women miss it is simple. A standard GP hormone test often only checks FSH — and in early perimenopause, FSH can still appear normal. Without oestradiol, progesterone, testosterone, SHBG, full thyroid and cortisol, the picture is incomplete. Symptoms are attributed to depression or anxiety. Antidepressants are prescribed. The hormonal cause is never investigated.
At Boost & Glow our perimenopause panel gives you the complete picture — every hormone that matters, reviewed against optimal ranges by our clinical team. If prescriptions or HRT support are needed, Dr Asim Naqvi MRCGP is available via Rubicon Private Health. IV therapy supports your body through the transition at a cellular level.
You are not falling apart. Your hormones are shifting. And now you can find out exactly what they are doing. 💚
