Recovery is possible. 🙌🙏❤️

Today, we are celebrating Ivan's story of hope. 🥳🙌

When Ivan arrived at Adam Outreach Project, he wasn't simply looking to overcome addiction—he was searching for a way to stop the pain and find a reason to believe that change was possible.

Many people arrive at our projects carrying years of trauma, broken relationships, shame, and hopelessness. They come exhausted from surviving and searching for answers. What often begins as the gift of desperation becomes the starting point for transformation.

At Adam Outreach Project, we provide more than a place to recover—we create a community where people can belong, heal, and grow. Through safe and supportive environments, recovery education, peer-led groups, accountability, mentoring, and faith, individuals are empowered to rebuild their lives from the ground up.

We believe that lasting recovery is built on strong foundations. That is why we focus on helping people develop sustainable recovery capital—the relationships, skills, resilience, purpose, faith, and community connections that support long-term recovery and meaningful lives.

Addiction thrives in isolation. Recovery flourishes in connection.

Every day, we witness lives being restored, families being reunited, and hope being rekindled. We still live in a time where remarkable transformations take place. Faith can move mountains, and Ivan's journey is living proof that God is still changing lives.

Today, we celebrate one year of sobriety and all that it represents—courage, perseverance, healing, faith, and a future reclaimed.

Ivan's story reminds us that no one is beyond hope, no one is beyond recovery, and no one is beyond redemption.
Recovery is Possible. 💯

Transforming Lives. Empowering Change. Restoring Hope.🙏

Please hit the heart/like button and drop Ivan a supportive message. ❤️🤝

Today’s topic was enlightening for our clients.

Here is a breakdown of what we discussed during this morning’s group facilitation at the retreat.

Addiction does not arrive looking like destruction. 💡

It arrives sounding like comfort, relief, confidence, escape, peace, control, the list goes on and on.

Like a salesman, addiction knows exactly what to say: 🗣️

“I’ll help you cope.” “I’ll take the pain away.” “You deserve this.” “Just one more.” “You can stop anytime.” “I’ll never leave you.” “ it will give me confidence.”

“If addiction could speak… what would it say to you?”

Together we unpacked the false promises addiction sells, compared to the reality it delivers:

isolation, shame, broken relationships, guilt, emotional pain, and a cycle that can feel impossible to escape.

As a group, we explored the addiction cycle:
Trigger → Thought → Feeling → Behaviour → Consequence → Repeat

Most importantly, we focused on what can break the cycle:
• Honesty • Support • Healthy coping tools • Self-awareness • Boundaries • Therapy/Counselling • Community • 12 Step Program • Purpose

A powerful reminder from today:

Awareness is the first step. Choice is the next.

Recovery is possible. 🎯
Healing happens in connection.🤝
Nobody has to walk this journey alone.🚷

Recovery is more than stopping alcohol — it’s about rebuilding health, restoring confidence, and creating sustainable change.

At Harmony House, we support individuals beyond detox with a holistic recovery approach focused on:

• Nutritional support & liver health
• Emotional wellbeing & nervous system recovery
• 12 Step recovery support
• Life Coaching & NLP Facilitation
• Structured routines & accountability
• Clinical guidance and ongoing care

Many people leaving alcohol detox experience exhaustion, anxiety, poor sleep, vitamin deficiencies, and concerns around liver health, including jaundice. Our role is to help individuals stabilise, recover safely, and rebuild their lives with dignity and support.

Healing takes time — but recovery is possible with the right environment and support network.
We believe in compassionate, person-centred recovery that supports the body, mind, and future of every individual we work with.

🌿 RETREAT ACTIVITY SPOTLIGHT: FRITTON LAKE, SOMERLEYTON 🌿

We Step out of the noise… and into nature.

At Harmony House, one of our most powerful experiences is time spent at the beautiful Fritton Lake — a space to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with what truly matters.

✨ Why it matters

Spending time in nature isn’t just calming — it’s scientifically proven to support your wellbeing:

• Boosts your immune system
• Helps regulate and reset your nervous system
• Improves mood, focus, and sleep

🔥❄️ The Science of the Nordic Cycle

We incorporate cold plunge + sauna therapy to deepen your reset:

• Cold plunge – reduces inflammation & boosts circulation
• Sauna heat – promotes detoxification & deep relaxation
• Repeat cycle – builds resilience and supports recovery

🧠 Our holistic approach to Recovery
At Harmony House, we combine:

• NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming)
• 12 Step principles
• CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)
• Nature + science-based practices

This integrated approach supports healing of the mind, body, and spirit — helping you create lasting change, not just temporary relief.

💚 A powerful, natural reset for body and mind.

Recovery doesn’t happen in isolation — it happens through strong partnerships.
Today the Harmony House team from the Adam Outreach Project had the privilege of visiting Abbington House. 🏡

Abbington House is a 15-20 bed, fully established private residential detox and rehabilitation service, supporting individuals at a crucial stage of their recovery journey.🤝

Their work in stabilising and supporting people through pre-detox and post- detox is vital, and we are grateful to collaborate with them to ensure continuity of care as individuals move into longer-term recovery support if needed.

It was especially encouraging to see one of our service users from our secondary move-on facility now working at Abbington House as a support worker while training to become a counsellor—a powerful reminder of what recovery can lead to when the right support and structure are in place.

Investing in people is where it truly matters, and both our organisations share the same heart and vision in the work we do.

Below are members of our Harmony House senior management team, Ricky and Louise, alongside the leadership team at Abbington House:

Greg Georghiou – Founder / CEO
Michael Williams – Treatment Manager
Tony Rapacioli – Chief Operating Officer
Michael Garnham – Admissions Director

Thank you to the whole team for the warm welcome and for the incredible work you do. Partnerships like this truly make a difference.

A Mother’s Practical Guide to Supporting Family Members with Addiction

Addiction doesn’t just affect one person — it affects the whole family. And often, mothers carry the deepest worry, responsibility, and heartbreak.
One of the hardest lessons is learning the difference between helping and enabling.

Helping supports recovery:• Encouraging treatment• Supporting healthy choices• Offering emotional support• Setting healthy boundaries

Enabling protects the addiction:• Giving money that funds substance use• Covering up problems• Making excuses• Rescuing them from consequences again and again

Sometimes intervention is necessary. Not to punish, but to say:“We love you, and things need to change.”

And sometimes the hardest step is learning when to let go — allowing consequences to happen because you cannot force someone into recovery.

Love them. Support recovery. But protect your own wellbeing too.🤝❤️

Please watch this clip from a mother who knows this journey first-hand. Her story speaks for so many families walking this road.

Recovery is possible — for them, and for the whole family. ❤️
