🌞🌞🌞The HSE warns that you must assess the risks to the health and safety of your staff, and this includes risks from extreme weather such as heatwaves. Whilst there's no legal maximum temperature for workplaces, heat is classed as a hazard.
The “simple and cheap” measures that the HSE asks you to consider putting in place are:
• ensuring workplace windows can be opened or closed
• using blinds or reflective film on workplace windows
• placing workstations away from direct sunlight and heat sources
• putting insulation around hot pipes and machinery
• offering flexible working patterns so staff can work at cooler times of the day
• providing free access to drinking water
• relaxing dress codes if possible
• providing weather-appropriate PPE
• encouraging employees to remove PPE when resting (ideally in shaded areas) to cool off
• sharing information about the symptoms of heat stress and what to do if someone is affected.
The HSE also advises you to discuss with your staff the changes you’re making to manage the heat risk.🌞🌞

The Browns team are on a “well being day today“. It’s hot and sunny so they have slapped on the sun lotion and are drinking plenty of water.
Remember if you work outdoors slap on the sun lotion, slip on a shirt, keep hydrated, and get some shade. Have a great day. 🌞🌞
