I want to be that wise old fairy grandmother whose crow’s feet tell the stories of all the conversations she’s shared with her grandchildren about her love of nature, the power of the moon cycles…and the importance of living in harmony with the natural world.

The one who teaches them to listen to birdsong, to marvel at dragonflies, to greet the sunrise… and to never lose their sense of wonder.

The one who reminds them that the Earth is not something we own, but something we belong to.

The one who teaches them that self-love is not selfish…and that they should never abandon themselves in order to be accepted, loved, or chosen by someone else.

The one who encourages them to trust their intuition…and remember that the right people will never ask them to become someone they are not.

The one who shows them that magic isn’t found in rhyming spells, but in the power of their own words, the courage to believe in themselves…and the quiet knowing that they have the power to create whatever the hell they want in their own lives.

Happy 1st Birthday to granddaughter no.2… Clara Rose 🌹

I still carry the heart of this child who longed to be noticed, accepted and loved for who she was.

I still feel the little girl who just wanted to fit in.

I still feel the little girl who didn’t seek attention for the sake of admiration; she simply wanted to know that her presence mattered.

I still feel her warm, generous heart that often expressed love through encouragement, loyalty and making others feel seen and valued.

She simply longed for the quiet reassurance that she was deeply loved, deeply valued, and worthy of being seen herself exactly as she was - even on the days when she wasn’t shining her brightest or behaving perfectly.

Yet there are still moments when she quietly wonders whether people truly care for her, or only for the version of her that is always smiling, giving and staying strong.

She still keeps showing up for others, often with little reciprocation, leaving her feeling depleted, drained and wondering if she is somehow not good enough to expect the same in return.

But I’ll change that voice in her head.

I can tell her now that her worth doesn’t depend on others treatment of her. Her light is not something she has to earn—it is something she was born with.

And perhaps the greatest act of healing is gently reminding her, again, again, again and again, that she has always been enough. Maybe, just maybe others didn’t/don’t deserve her.

PS. Adam and Eve was never about two humans in a garden.
It was about source (whoever that is to you) wanting to experience itself in the form of both masculine & feminine.

And here we all are.

Little did I know then that I signed up for a life of lessons and pain.

PPS. I’ve spent too much time hiding under trees. Can someone do a rain dance please?

Whilst the spiritual meaning of a swan centres on transformation, grace and inner purity.

The journey from a cygnet into a stunning adult mirrors our own path of personal growth and self-discovery.

But to my mind it brings the timeless story of ā€˜The Ugly Duckling’.

If you’re old enough to remember it, you’ll know it as the much loved children’s tale of a little duckling who doesn’t look like the others. Rejected, labelled a misfit, and made to feel different, he struggles to find where he belongs in life.

It’s a story that has always resonated deeply with me. Thankfully for the swan, the ending reminds us that first appearances can be wonderfully deceptive. In time, the little duckling grows into the most elegant of birds.

To me, it’s a beautiful reminder that true beauty isn’t something we strive to become. It grows from within.

Because swans mate for life, they also symbolise fidelity, devotion and deep soul connections.

Closely connected to water, the swan invites us to look beneath the surface of our lives, into the depths of our subconscious and gently reminds us to trust our inner voice.

In Celtic traditions, I believe swans are seen as sacred messengers between the soul and the spirit world, representing the continuous journey of both the heart and the mind.

Across many other traditions, this graceful bird represents the unfolding of the soul, deep intuition and eternal love.

I love exploring the meanings of spirit animals and the gentle wisdom they can bring into our lives.

What does the swan mean to you?

For six years now, this page, From Dragon to Dragonfly Reiki Healing, has been a source of joy and a creative outlet for me.

A couple of years ago, a tarot reader told me that I should only use this platform to advertise my Reiki services, and I’ve doubted myself ever since.

I just want to make something clear. It’s not because I don’t believe in my work—I truly do. Reiki has been a saving grace in my life. It has opened my eyes and expanded my awareness in ways I never could have imagined.

When I first created this account, I called it ā€˜Diary of a Reiki Master’ because, in many ways, that’s exactly what it is. A place to record pieces of my story and my journey from the day I was first attuned.

It’s a place where I can authentically express myself, share my experiences, and sometimes speak openly about my struggles.

The truth is, I don’t want to sell anything to anyone. I dislike having advertisements constantly pushed at me (please stop direct messaging me yours), so why would I do the same to others?

I’d much rather use this space to inspire people and gently show them what might be possible for them too.

My work link is quite clear in my bio for anyone who feels curious enough to look. I’d rather people feel naturally drawn to me. Reiki seems to work better that way—or at least it does for me.

If that’s bad for business, then so be it. Bookings seem to arrive in other magical ways anyway.

And then there’s this…

One day, when I am gone, this little page will still exist for those who love me to look back on.

My posts will remain here, holding my stories in archive, my work, and the things I created from imagination and from my heart.

A reminder that you really can create a life that feels true to you.

Sometimes, all it takes is the courage to follow your heart and make the leap.

And who knows… maybe one day I’ll need this page as a reminder too—of the work I once did, the places I’ve been, and the person I was becoming along the way.

Much love
S🌹A

PS. I do often wonder what little me would think if she knew who she would turn out to be.

PPS. Sorry, I can’t pretend to be who I am not anymore, too much time spent under a tree.

Animals have always wandered in and out of my life as guides, each arriving exactly when I’ve needed them. Not because they’re magical fortune tellers, but because they hold up a mirror and gently remind me of something I’ve forgotten within myself.

The dragonfly found me when I was learning to embrace change and trust that transformation doesn’t have to be frightening.

The robin always reminds me to keep my heart open, even when I just want to shut down.

The owl appears when I need to trust the quiet wisdom that already lives within.

The fox nudges me to be adaptable rather than forceful.

And the bees… well, they never fail to remind me of the sweetness of life and the potential for finding joy and hope even in difficult circumstances.Ā

For me, spirit guides don’t have to be invisible beings.

Sometimes they have feathers, fur, scales or wings. Sometimes they appear for a season, and sometimes they stay for years, like the magpie with its reminder of my own divination skills when I have no interest in reading tarot.

I don’t believe they’re here to tell us what to do. I believe they’re here to help us remember who we are.

So now I’m curious…

What animal keeps showing up in your life?

Maybe it’s one you see in nature, one that appears in your dreams, or one that seems to cross your path so often it makes you stop and wonder.

Perhaps it’s trying to tell you something… or perhaps it’s simply inviting you to slow down and notice.

Nature has always been one of my greatest teachers. We just have to be still enough to listen.

Just when I thought my sacred well duties were over, it seems I was simply having a little rest.

This is thought to be one of the oldest recorded holy wells in England, with records dating back to 998. It is reputed to have been used by monks in this area - hence the name Holy Well.

It may be one of the oldest recorded as a Christian holy well, but water has been revered long before Christianity intruded here.

It is said that the spring water was once used to treat eye ailments. Whether that’s true or not, this beautiful well is remarkable in its own right. Its unusual half-moon stone structure cradles the water, while three carved heads pour the spring from their mouths as it flows gently down towards the river.

The water was astonishingly cold on my hands and feet—the coldest well I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. 🌹

Did anyone see that reel that went viral of a lady completely cocking up the start of a sound bath by bashing the singing bowl a little too hard? Well… that’s exactly what I did during my practical test. šŸ˜‚

Maybe I shouldn’t have admitted that, but I’ve always been far too honest. Oh well, I’m pleased to say I still passed my Level One Sound Healing training with Sarah Barelli Wellbeing down in Wellow, near the New Forest (such a gorgeous part of the world). The fella passed too, without a hitch.

More to come on sound baths later in the year…

I also recently completed Tuning Fork Therapy training with Fiona Carson, which uses precise acoustic frequencies and gentle mechanical vibrations to help harmonise the body and mind. Some of the many benefits include deep nervous system relaxation, reduced stress and cortisol levels, relief from localised pain and inflammation, improved circulation, and greater emotional balance.

Two beautiful training experiences that had me buzzing all over. Every part of me was saying, this is exactly where I’m meant to be.

I love learning new ways to weave healing into my treatments, helping you switch off from the world for a little while.

Anything extra I can include to give you more time for stillness has always been my goal. To create a space where you can simply rest, restore, and reconnect with yourself.

The ultimate act of self-care.

A little professional development never goes astray and I’m beyond excited to begin gently introducing tuning forks and singing bowls into my treatments very soon.

Sometimes, the things that make your soul come alive are quietly showing you the path you’re meant to walk.

What lights you up like a beacon?

You’re never too old to learn something new or to change the direction of your life. Mine all started with Reiki Level One… and look where that one small ā€˜yes’ has led me.
