Emma Robertson Counselling & Hypnotherapy

Hello, I’m Emma Robertson, a member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and the National Hypnotherapy Society. I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, trained in Person-Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I’m also trained in hypnotherapy, which can be offered as part of the counselling service or as part of a single service. I tailor

our counselling sessions to meet your specific needs in an empathetic, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you feel comfortable and safe. I have a BSc Psychology, a Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and a Professional Diploma in Hypnotherapy. I’m also a trained Designated Safeguard Lead and hold an enhanced disclosure check. I have worked for a number of years in a secondary school supporting children and young people 11-18 years old. Alongside this, I have worked for a charitable counselling agency supporting adults with wide-ranging presenting issues and difficulties. Taking a pluralistic approach, I focus on working collaboratively with you to agree which psychotherapeutic modalities feel right to you and will be most effective during therapy. A person-centred approach is at the heart of everything I do within counselling, and building a strong working relationship with you is key to maximising success - a good relationship and trust between you and your counsellor is essential for effective therapy.
