Introducing this beaut! 🥰
Q: Tell us your name and how many weeks pregnant you are.
A: Emma, 10 days postpartum!
Q: What made you decide to give aquanatal yoga a try and how has it helped?
A: I wanted a reason to leave the house and meet some other Mum’s. I’d done yoga before so thought it might be familiar. It was actually amazing, and ended up being the highlight of the week; being in the water is great for light compression and supporting your body weight, especially as the bump grows!
Q: What’s your favourite thing about the classes?
A: It’s a moment of calm in the week to connect with your growing baby. It’s also super friendly and supportive; Hayley and the other Mums were amazing and we had lots of laughs.
Q: What’s one thing you wish you’d known before becoming pregnant?
A: Your body will change in ways you don’t anticipate, it’s ok not to like every change, but be kind to yourself, you’re growing your perfect little human.
Q: What’s your current “I’m pregnant, so I deserve it” treat? 😂
A: Nachos. Copious amounts of cheese, super-salty Doritos and all the dips! It’s was the same the whole way through pregnancy.
Q: What’s been the biggest challenge of pregnancy for you?
A: Feeling like I don’t have autonomy of my body; the smallest things became Olympic sports, like getting out of bed! But it’s not forever and it’s ok to not ‘Love’ every moment too, be kind to yourself.
Q: Describe Lotus Aqua in three words.
A: Fun, Supportive & Calming
Q: What would you say to another pregnant mum who is thinking about joining?
A: Do it. You sign up for a term so you don’t have to join forever if it’s not for you. There’s no pressure either; if you can’t go one week it’s not a problem. You might just find that it’s the thing you look forward to in your week.
Q: What’s your best piece of advice to a new mum-to-be?
A: One of the Mums in our class said ‘You can do anything for a minute’ and I carried that with me throughout pregnancy and birth! My other tip is to have a snack-caddy, like a nappy-caddy, and top it up daily. It keeps all of your fave snacks to hand, whether that’s for the 2am feeds or the late-night pumping sessions, I couldn’t live without mine!
