"My child says they don't need the toilet - but they do! What's happening?"

Some children (especially those with an overactive bladder) don't get any signals to use the toilet - or, if they do get signals, it's very close to needing the toilet, which means they have an accident.

Some children also allow the contraction feeling to pass and then don't feel the need to go to the toilet. This can be frustrating for parents, as they can see their child needs to go. If you notice your child wriggling about, always encourage them to empty their bladder

HOW TO DOUBLE LAYER 🛏️

If your child wets the bed and it causes the whole family to wake up overnight, try double-layering the bed.

1. Put a waterproof mattress protector on the bed
2. Put a fitted sheet on top of that
3. Put a disposable pad on top of the fitted sheet
4. Put a second fitted sheet on top of that

This means that if wetting occurs during the night and wakes the child, you can more easily remove the top sheet and the disposable sheet and the child can go straight back to bed.

If your child is struggling with bedwetting, we support those aged 5-17 years to become the boss of their bladder! Get started by messaging us to book a FREE discovery call.

Cranberry juice - good or bad for the bladder?

If you are prone to infections, it can help, as it stops bacteria from adhering to the bladder lining. HOWEVER, if you have overactivity of the bladder, it can cause symptoms to be worse as it is quite acidic and can cause frequency, urgency and can cause day or night wetting to be worse.
