After much hard work on my part and support from Bond Solon, I have finally achieved my Expert Witness Certification!😊

What does this mean for Independent Midwifery? Mothers and families?
Knowledge I have and continue to draw from this role:-
Strengthening support for Independent Midwives and I include myself, in continuing to provide safe,responsive holistic Midwifery care that is defensible and therefore uniquely taylored to the mothers' needs Enabling true choice and autonomy for women through their entire pregnancy birth and postnatal journey.

My Expert Witness role will enable me to
provide an honest non biased expert opinion where the maternity care provided has been brought into question.
Providing expertise within my scope, in accordance with the Civil Practice Direction 35 and Practice Direction rules-35, maintaining complete neutrality at all times. This is absolutely necessary in order to help the court achieve their prime objective of dealing with cases justly and fairly.

Just been to this lovely group of birthworkers, expectant parents and those who have already had their babies. A great and relaxed environment to chat and share experiences. We need more of this support and awareness of how to exercise choice in child birth.🙂

💜 Next Pudding Club - Free Social - Thurs 13th Feb 12.30pm-1.30pm at Kanya Bistro and Bar theres a free car park at the rear.

Come and join us if you are expecting a baby soon, or your little one has recently arrived. Pudding Clubs are free, friendly events where you can meet other new parents and babies. Partners, babes in arms and toddlers are welcome too.

Some of the members of the PBY team will be there if you need any support, signposting or help or just fancy a chat.

Being an Independent self employed Midwife .. keeping track of one's own accounts, stock, medical supplies and equipment, always learning and keeping up-to-date. Most important of all being with ones's client through thick and thin, supporting helping, navigating through challenges and celebrating the triumphs. What do I do for down time? Creativity is therapeutic for me. I spent a creative day making a wreath, nappy cake and gift wrapping. Although to be fair I had to make time for this, what with the Christmas season almost upon us, helping daughter move house, running a workshop in London and attending my Aromatherapy course...
It is so good to take time out and chill 😎 🎁 🎀🤗
