🛒 Bought this cute little basket from Temu 🤦‍♀️..only to discover it had some pretty sharp edges inside 🔪

A little bit of fabric + some sewing and voilà! Now it looks super romantic and cozy 😍

And because the universe loves balance, look at this stunning poppy that popped up in our garden this year 🤩

🎨 Trying a new medium — acrylic ink!

It's sort of amazing 🤩 Really enjoying how the colours flow. This stuff is so vibrant, fluid, and unpredictable in the best way. The colours blend like magic and dry super fast.
But I definitely need a lot more practicing 🫣

Here’s a little post about Latvia and its Baltic neighbours, Lithuania and Estonia. They’re lovely countries by the Baltic Sea in Northern Europe!

🇱🇻Latvia:
📍Located right in the middle, between Estonia and Lithuania.
🏙Capital is Riga – famous for its beautiful Art Nouveau buildings and historic Old Town.
💚Full of forests, lakes, and stunning nature – one of the greenest places in Europe.
💬Official language: Latvian.
🎶Known for wonderful traditional Song and Dance Festivals.
🎄Fun fact: The world’s first Christmas tree was decorated in Riga in 1510, and the first pair of jeans was invented by a Latvian!

🇱🇹Lithuania (to the south):
The largest of the three, with rolling hills and pretty lakes.
🏙Capital Vilnius is charming and full of history.
💬Official language: Lithuanian.
🏖Home to the impressive Curonian Spit with its huge sand dunes.

🇪🇪Estonia (to the north):
🏙Capital Tallinn looks like a fairy-tale medieval town.
💡Very innovative – Skype and Bolt were born here!
💬Official language: Estonian.
💚Half the country is covered in forest, plus over 1,500 islands.

They’re small countries with big hearts, rich culture, and beautiful landscapes. Definitely worth discovering!

We just came back from an amazing campsite in Anglesey – Penrhyn Bach! 😍🏕️
It's basic but absolutely beautiful! Both fields have stunning sea views that will blow you away. The beach is just a short walk away. Bottom field has toilet, drinking water and cold shower, bubbling stream and a swing but no phone signal. Higher field has just toilets, drinking water but good phone signal.
The owner is a really nice and chatty guy. He comes every evening around 8pm to collect the money. No need to book in advance! Just turn up, choose your pitch and enjoy ☺️

🌞 Happy Summer Solstice – Litha – Midsummer! 🌞

Today marks the longest day of the year and the shortest night. The sun is at its highest power, shining bright and filling the world with warmth, light, and energy. Nature is at its peak and flowers blooming, crops growing strong, and everything feels alive and full of magic.

In many traditions, this is a joyful celebration of abundance, fertility, and prosperity. It’s a powerful reminder that even at the height of summer, the wheel of the year continues to turn and the days will slowly grow shorter again.

For hundredsof years, people have honored this special day with bonfires, dancing, feasting, gathering healing herbs, and maypole dances. Some leave offerings for the faeries, roll burning wheels down hills, or simply enjoy the sunshine and the beauty of the earth.

In Latvia, Midsummer is celebrated as Jāņi. A beautiful national festival full of singing, dancing around the bonfire, wearing flower wreaths, and staying up all night. I miss those magical Latvian nights so much and feel deeply grateful for growing up with such rich traditions.

Symbols of the season include:

🌞The sun itself — the most powerful symbol of light, life, and energy at its peak.
🔥Bonfires (balefires) — lit to honor the sun, for protection, and to celebrate its strength.
🌀Circles, wheels, and spirals — representing the sun’s journey across the sky and the eternal cycle of the seasons.
❎️Equal-arm crosses — standing for the four turning points of the year (solstices and equinoxes).

These symbols remind us of the sun’s power, the turning of the seasons, and the magic all around us.

🔔 Apopka and Kissimmee! 🔔

These areas are great if you want a good blend of nature, wildlife, and fun things to do.

We watched some really beautiful sunsets on Lake McCoy, with alligators and different birds right there with us.🐊 🐦 🐦‍⬛ 🦜 🌅
We swam in the clear springs at Wekiwa Springs State Park — the water felt so refreshing. 🏊‍♂️
We checked out the Museum of the Apopkans and had a fun day at the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens. 🦒 🐍 🌼
We visited Old Town and Fun Spot America. 🎢🎡🎠🎪
We had a tasty lunch at World Food Trucks. 🥙🥘🍤
We went to the Pirates Dinner Adventure, which was a lot of fun. 🏴‍☠️ 🦜👸 🧜‍♀️
We did the scenic Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive. 🐇🪿🦋🐢🐊🦎🦅
One of the coolest parts was feeding wild deer and raccoons in the backyard before bed.🦝🦌
And we relaxed in the resort pool and hot tub every day. 😌

It was a relaxing and enjoyable mix of everything. Definitely worth visiting!
