The weekly debrief

The first full week in the sandpit settling into the new life 🇦🇪

New city, same routine (it’s just a lot hotter outside)

I’ve been talking a lot on stories this week that the magic you’re searching for is in the repeatable actions

When you try and do something different every single day, it creates decision fatigue and makes everything seem so much more difficult to manage

Set a time to train, train at that time
Set a time to sleep, sleep at that time

Have 1-5 main meals in rotation that you enjoy, hits the right boxes and give you the energy you need to perform

It’s been easy for me to settle into a new routine in a new city because effectively, my routine is the same

Sleep 9pm, wake up 5am, activity 6am, work 9am etc

There will be days it’s not possible to have this same routine (which is ok) but that’s when planning your days ahead of time is key

You’re overwhelmed because you’re trying to do so many things at once with no schedule in place…

And I guarantee when you stop trying to make so many decisions every day and actually plan your days out ahead of time, you’ll suddenly realise how much easier everything seems

You see athletes and influencers on social media training multiple times a day

Smashing multiple races in one weekend

I see someone smashing peptides, allowing them to recover fast and push high performance…

It’s very easy to get caught up in the ‘hybrid training’ grind

Seeing people on social media always running hard and crushing themselves in the the gym

It’s simply not necessary to get to where you want to be

More doesn’t = better when you’re under recovered and under fuelled

This is why so many guys when they join the feel like they are actually training less than before but suddenly now getting more out of it

It’s not some magical science,

It comes from having finally having a system that works for their lives, demands and goals

Rather than trying to follow what everyone else is doing…

If you feel like your weekend is constantly having you “start again on Monday”

Here is how to stop that from happening!

1. Protein first in each meal
2. Activity first in the day
3. Intentional decision making

2 days of the week should not be your downfall…

But rather than trying to apply a Monday/Friday strategy through the weekend that never works

Create an adaptive strategy that works through the entire week

That is how you build the long term success you crave!
