We are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for not one, but two HSJ awards this year!

Our Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage (REACH) programme has been shortlisted in the NHS Race Equality Award category. Developed in direct response to concerns raised by staff about the impact of racism in the workplace, the programme is helping to create safer and more inclusive environments while improving confidence to report and challenge racist behaviour.

We have also been shortlisted in the Provider Collaboration of the Year category for our ‘Care Closer, Care Smarter: Transforming Mental Health Flow in Greater Manchester’ programme, delivered in partnership with NHS Greater Manchester and Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust. The programme is helping more people receive care closer to home by reducing out-of-area placements and investing savings back into local mental health services.

This dual recognition highlights our commitment to improving both staff experience and patient care through innovation, partnership working and sustained efforts to tackle inequalities.

An amber heat-health alert is in place across parts of England from today until 14 August.

During an amber alert, hot weather can put more people’s health at risk – not just those who are usually more vulnerable.

Older people, young children and people with existing health conditions may be particularly at risk.

Take extra care and look out for others who may struggle in the heat.

Our Recovery Academy is proud to support its student, Nicki, in delivering a somatic dance workshop.

Somatic dance is a choreographed movement. The workshop aims to provide participants with a safe space to remember how to move their bodies freely, release trapped emotions or tension and begin to become more aware of their bodies.

A new specialist liver scanner, known as a FibroScan, is helping to detect the signs of liver disease in minutes rather than weeks.

The scanner, provided by Bury Council's Public Health team, is now being used by our Achieve Bury service to support the early identification and prevention of liver disease across the borough.

Achieve Bury, based at Radcliffe Primary Care Centre, supports people who may be affected by alcohol or drug related harm, helping them improve their health and wellbeing and, where needed, access treatment and recovery support in a way that feels right for them.
