What happens when hospitality and care come together? 🍽️💛

Recently, our Executive Chef, Tyler Horton, partnered with B&R Dining Restaurant in March to explore inclusive dining, specialist diets and IDDSI awareness.

The collaboration focused on helping ensure that people requiring texture-modified meals can still enjoy safe, dignified and high-quality dining experiences, whether at home, in care settings or out in the community with loved ones.

It was also a fantastic opportunity to share knowledge, exchange ideas and strengthen awareness around inclusive dining within the wider hospitality sector.

Our recent Cinema Night was a great success 🎬🍿

Our residents enjoyed an evening of film, popcorn, snacks and good company, with plenty of smiles throughout the night.

It was lovely to see everyone settled in, enjoying the film together and making the most of the cinema experience right here at Askham 💛

We’re already looking forward to the next one! 🤩

What a month May has been! 🌸☀️

Over the past few weeks, we’ve celebrated, learned, travelled, connected and created plenty of memories together across Askham Village Community 💛

From awareness days and international celebrations to community events and everyday moments shared together, May has been packed with activity across the organisation.

What a fantastic Culture Day we had 🌍🎉

It was wonderful to see team members, residents, families, friends and members of the wider community coming together to celebrate the many cultures that make Askham such a special place.

From delicious food and music to dancing, henna and plenty of laughter throughout the day, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The bouncy castle proved a big hit with our younger visitors, while many others enjoyed exploring the different dishes, cultures and traditions being shared.

A huge thank you to everyone who brought food and helped make the day such a success. Every dish was prepared with such care and generosity, giving everyone the opportunity to experience flavours from around the world 🍽️

A very special thank you also goes to Manu, our Head of Care and Nursing Services, and her family for their brilliant dancing performance, which brought so much energy and enjoyment to the celebrations 👏

Culture Day is always one of the highlights of the year, and we are incredibly proud to celebrate the diversity, inclusion and community spirit that continue to shape life across Askham 💛

Our recent Quiz Night was a lovely evening filled with laughs, friendly competition and a great atmosphere 🎉❓

It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the event together and we were especially proud to have some of our residents from Askham Grove joining us on the night and being part of the fun alongside the wider community 💛

How do you make it rain in England? Launch a weekly BBQ menu of course! ☔🔥

Last week marked the start of our new Wednesday BBQ days, with residents enjoying gammon steaks, garlic chicken thighs, cheeseburgers, hotdogs with homemade onion relish, potato salad, onion rings and mozzarella sticks 🍔🌭

The new menu has already gone down brilliantly across the homes, and we’re looking forward to many more BBQ Wednesdays over the summer 💛
