A controversial fact….

Dry needling and acupuncture are not the same thing.

Yes, they both use needles.

But the training behind them is very different.

Most acupuncturists complete 3–4 years of full-time training, including around 3,000+ hours of education and supervised clinical practice.

Dry needling is usually taught as a short postgraduate course for other healthcare professionals.

Dry needling focuses mainly on muscle trigger points.

Acupuncture is a complete medical system used to treat pain, headaches, stress, digestive problems, sleep issues and more.

There’s a lot of confusion about acupuncture, so let’s clear a few things up.

What acupuncture is:

• A regulated healthcare practice
• A system of medicine that’s been observed, refined and recorded for over 2,000 years
• A way of stimulating the nervous system, circulation and connective tissue using very fine, sterile needles
• Used today for pain, musculoskeletal problems, headaches, stress-related tension, and more

Modern research shows acupuncture influences blood flow, inflammatory processes, and how the brain processes pain signals. It’s not magic — it’s physiology.
