This week we had the privilege of carrying out the funeral service for a local gentleman and tractor enthusiast.
He had requested a viewing window on his coffin so he could see who attended his funeral. The family decided it was appropriate to stick googly eyes on the coffin for him to see the whole congregation which made everyone smile!
The cortège was lead by a family member driving Colin’s tractor 🚜

It was an absolute privilege to carry out the funeral arrangements for a dearly loved local lady last week. With the families permission we share a photo of the floral arrangements.
The significance of the boots and daisies were the dear lady always said ‘kicking the daisies’ instead of ‘pushing up!’
It made everyone smile through the tears on the day!
It’s little touches like these that make the service personal ❤️

Funerals have always held a special place in their history. There have been moments where chosen family show up, where love is spoken honestly, and where lives are remembered fully when the world didn’t always allow that in life. For many in the community, funerals became acts of truth‑telling. They are spaces where identities were finally acknowledged, where partners and friends stood together, and where grief became a form of solidarity. These moments of mourning shaped the strength carried today.
It’s the understanding that the way we honour our dead is part of how we honour ourselves.
This month, the community celebrate loudly, but they also hold space for the quiet rituals of loss that have bound the community together.

We had the privilege of carrying out the funeral of a very dear gentleman who served many years ago in the Royal Navy.
The family requested this beautiful anchor and matching coffin spray.
