I love this quote because it reminds us that lasting marriages aren't built on grand gestures alone.
They're woven together through the everyday moments, the morning cups of tea, the reassuring hand to hold, the laughter over shared memories, the quiet acts of kindness, the support through life's challenges.

Those tiny threads become a beautiful tapestry, telling the unique story of two lives woven together over time.

As a celebrant, it's these little moments that I love discovering and sharing during a wedding ceremony.

They are the memories that make every love story wonderfully unique.

What are the little threads that have strengthened your relationship? 💕

Every family is different, and every farewell should reflect the person being remembered.

For some, a traditional funeral is exactly what they want. For others, a direct cremation offers a quieter alternative, allowing decisions to be made without the pressure of organising a service within a few days.

Once your loved one's ashes have been returned, you have the freedom to choose how you would like to remember them.

A celebrant-led celebration of life can be held weeks or even months later, giving family and friends time to travel, share memories and take part in a ceremony that truly reflects the person they loved.

Together we can include music, readings, photographs, stories, laughter, tears and personal tributes. We can even include symbolic acts such as lighting candles, planting a tree or scattering ashes in a meaningful place.

A funeral marks a person's passing. A celebration of life tells their story.

During my recent visit to a local crematorium, I noticed that there was an increase in people chosing direct cremations.
A direct cremation is becoming an increasingly popular choice for many families, but what does it actually mean?

A direct cremation is a simple cremation that takes place without a funeral service or mourners present. Your loved one is cared for with dignity and respect before being cremated, and their ashes are then returned to the family.

For some people, this offers a more flexible and less pressured way to say goodbye.

Choosing a direct cremation doesn't mean you have to miss out on celebrating a life well lived. In fact, many families choose to hold a personal memorial or celebration of life afterwards, when everyone has had time to gather, reflect and plan something truly meaningful.

As an independent celebrant, I can help you create a beautiful ceremony wherever feels right for you, in your home, a village hall, a favourite garden, on a beach, or somewhere that held special memories for your loved one.

There are no rules about how or when you remember someone. What matters most is creating a farewell that feels right for you and truly honours the life they lived. ❤️

Please feel free to contact me for an informal chat or to ask any questions you may have.

🌿 Imagine planning just one wedding ceremony

One venue.
One officiant.
One unforgettable day.

If the proposed reforms become law, future couples could enjoy a fully personalised celebrant-led ceremony that is also legally binding.

That means less duplication, less stress and more freedom to focus on what really matters, celebrating your commitment in a way that feels authentic to you.

Nothing has changed just yet, but the consultation marks an important step towards modernising wedding law and giving couples greater choice over how they marry.

I will continue to share updates as the review progresses.

Would having one legal celebrant-led ceremony have made your wedding planning easier?

This week I had the privilege of visiting Valley Crematorium, and I came away feeling incredibly grateful for the welcome I received.

The team generously gave up their time to show me around, explain how everything works behind the scenes, and talk me through the care and attention that goes into organising every single service.
Their professionalism, compassion and respect for the families they serve was evident in everything they do.

As a celebrant, I believe it's so important to understand every part of the journey that families experience. Knowing the procedures, meeting the people involved, and seeing first-hand how each ceremony is carefully coordinated means I can better support families at what is often one of the most difficult times in their lives.

Working together with such caring professionals helps create a seamless, personal ceremony where families can focus on remembering and celebrating the life of their loved one.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the time to share their knowledge and expertise with me at Sirhowy. 🤍

❤️ Why are independent celebrants asking to be included in wedding law reform?

It's simple...

Every year, thousands of couples choose a celebrant because they want a ceremony that's written just for them, not a standard script.

Celebrant ceremonies tell your story, include your traditions, welcome your families and create moments you will remember forever.

The proposal isn't about replacing registrars. It's about giving couples another choice.

The policy paper presented to Government explains that trained independent celebrants already create meaningful ceremonies every day and proposes a regulated system that would allow them to conduct legal marriages too.

The aim? More choice. More flexibility. More personalised weddings.

After all, your wedding should reflect your love story.

❤️ Your love story deserves more than a standard script.

A celebrant-led wedding ceremony is created around you as a couple.

From sharing your journey together to including personal vows, family traditions, meaningful readings, music, or even involving loved ones in the ceremony, every element can be tailored to reflect who you are.

📅 Struggling to find the perfect wedding date?

Many couples discover that one of the biggest challenges when planning a wedding is finding a date when both their chosen venue and a registrar are available.

This can often mean compromising on your preferred date or waiting much longer than you'd hoped to get married.

Choosing a wedding celebrant gives you far more flexibility. With fewer restrictions and greater availability, it's often much easier to secure the date that works best for you, your family, and your guests.

Less waiting. Less stress. More freedom to plan your special day exactly how you want it.

✨ Your wedding should fit your plans—not the other way around.

📍 Your wedding, your location.

One of the biggest advantages of choosing a wedding celebrant is the freedom to hold your ceremony almost anywhere that is meaningful to you.

Dreaming of saying your vows in -

A family garden
A woodland setting
A beautiful barn
A private estate
A venue with stunning views

With a celebrant-led ceremony, your chosen location doesn't need to be a licensed wedding venue.

Instead of being limited to a list of approved venues, you can create a ceremony in a place that reflects your personality, your story, and your vision for the day.

Because the most important thing isn't where you Are allowed to get married. It is where you want to celebrate your love. ❤️
