Our First Women & Children’s Walking Tennis Session! 🎾

Today we held our very first Walking Tennis session, and it was fantastic to see ladies and children getting active, having fun and giving tennis a go! 💗🎾

A huge JazakAllahu Khairan to Active Sunnah Sports CIC and Krimmz Youth Club for providing us with the activator training and supporting us to deliver these sessions within our community.

We’re excited to continue creating opportunities for women and children to get active, build confidence and enjoy sport in a welcoming environment. 🌱

We look forward to welcoming even more ladies and children to our next session, in shā Allah!

York, you have been a pleasure! 💙

Yesterday I took our walking group on a lovely day out to York, where we enjoyed exploring the beautiful city centre on foot.

We travelled on the direct train from Burnley Manchester Road to York. A huge thank you to Shaeista from Community Rail Lancashire for organising all the travel arrangements—it was very much appreciated.

For some of the ladies, this was their very first train journey, and for others it was their first time visiting York. Seeing them experience something new and build their confidence made the day even more special.

We certainly got our steps in with plenty of walking, explored the city’s beautiful streets, enjoyed great company, and created lots of wonderful memories together.

Here’s to many more adventures! 🚶‍♀️💚

Today's walk was made even more special as we were joined by the lovely Shereen Farooq and Lindsey from East Lancashire Alliance. They shared information about their important research into genes and health within Pakistani and Bangladeshi communities.

We started the morning with a refreshing homemade mocktail, kindly prepared by one of our regular walkers, before enjoying a lovely walk around Marsden Park in the beautiful sunshine.

Thank you to everyone who came along and made it another enjoyable morning! 💚🚶‍♀️☀️

Today, Saniya Strolls walking group visited Tuyoorul Jannah- FB Page (Birds of Paradise) in Blackburn – the first SEN madrassah of its kind.

We were given a tour of the madrassah, and I have to say, it is one of the most modern and thoughtfully designed madrassahs I have ever visited. Every aspect has been carefully considered to meet the needs of children with SEN, including a wonderful sensory room and facilities that truly support every child.

The highlight of our visit was meeting the incredible students. They absolutely made our day with their smiles, warmth, and enthusiasm!

For some of the ladies in our walking group who have children with SEN, this visit was especially meaningful and such an eye-opener. It was inspiring to see an environment where every child is valued, supported, and given the opportunity to learn and thrive.

We’re looking forward to exploring how Saniya Strolls can support this amazing madrassah. May Allah reward the founders, staff, and everyone involved in this much-needed initiative with immense barakah and accept all their efforts. Ameen.

To end our day, we took a stroll around Masjid E Vali, and honestly, I felt like I was in Dubai! What a breathtakingly beautiful masjid, mashaAllah.

We’re still in awe of both visits yesterday. Alhamdulillah for such inspiring experiences.

Today's Saniya's Strolls walking group did something a little different!
Many of the ladies who attend our walks are single, widowed, or have experienced social isolation. The walks are about so much more than getting our steps in-they're about building confidence, friendships, and trying new things together. Today, we were kindly invited by Catherine Richmond founder of Healing Homes Creative Hub to learn how to use a drill. It's a practical life skill that many women have never had the opportunity to learn, so when I was offered the chance to bring the ladies along, I jumped at it!
We learned how to safely use drills for both screwdriving and drilling into plasterboard and brick. There were lots of smiles, encouragement, and a real sense of achievement as everyone gave it a go.
A huge thank you to Cat for giving us this opportunity and creating such a welcoming, supportive environment that was also hijab- and niqab-friendly.
Providing opportunities like this empowers women with new skills, builds confidence, and reminds us that it's never too late to learn something new.
Here's to many more experiences that help our community grow together!

What an amazing morning we've had! 🌳 🍁

Today, we stepped away from our usual walking routes and took the train from Nelson to Accrington for a lovely stroll to Masjid Raza Accrington. 🍃

A huge thank you to Shaista from Community Rail Lancashire, who travelled with us and guided us to the mosque. We then had the pleasure of meeting the incredible women behind the first Muslim Station of Welcome group. It was such a joy to meet them, and we can't thank them enough for their warm hospitality, generosity, and kindness. 🚆

We're so grateful for the warm welcome we received and are already looking forward to welcoming you to visit us soon. Thank you for such a memorable morning! 🌅

We have something exciting to share with you all, watch this space!

🌳☀️ Today’s stroll took us once again through Marsden Park, and what a lovely walk it was! There’s something so peaceful about walking through the forest in beautiful weather. Can you hear the birds singing? 🐦💚

To cool us down after our walk, we enjoyed some refreshing strawberry mojito mocktails, kindly provided by one of our regular walkers. A huge thank you for the thoughtful treat! 🍓🍹

We’re already looking forward to next week when we’ll be strolling somewhere new and discovering another beautiful route together. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

If you’d like to join our friendly walking group, drop us a message or leave a comment below. New walkers are always welcome!
