๐Ÿ’ซ Grateful for another turn around the sun ๐Ÿ’ซ shout out to my fellow busy brained Gemini people & Summer babies.

Before I hit the big half century I have added a couple more tatoo's & crystals ๐Ÿ”ฎ to my collections! I have always promised myself a big solo interailing trip - it's happening next month ๐Ÿซฃ.

It has already felt an exciting year, and after my Autism diagnosis a sense of stepping into true purpose unaplogetically & authentically.

๐ŸŽฏ Body Doubling for ADHD๐ŸŽฏ means to simply use others working or studying near to hold you accountable.

I learnt many years ago with my son that to help him to hold focus for his homework, avoid distractions, be motivated & stay on task we needed to work together at the kitchen table.

Now I use this idea myself by taking a space in a co-working office. I also use cafe's regularly in order to be surrounded by others in work mode. It helps so many ADHDers to concentrate and self motivate so that projects are finished more quickly & thoroughly.

โ“๏ธChoosing university as an Autistic young adult is a huge undertaking. I have learned first hand this week just how much of a jungle it is out there.

Just like the school system there are processes that blow my mind in what they ask of young people ๐Ÿคฏ. I can't change that but viewing through an Autistic lens there are ways I can see to soften the edges.

The talks &/or hub open for all neurodivergent students is as important to go to on your visits as the course talk! Disclosing on UCAS from the get go may prove invaluable?

Yes, this is nutrient that can be hard to get in. Oily fish can be tricky for many, you may not like the taste, enjoy a vegan lifestyle or choose to be plant based? My go to brand of supplements is & I can highly recommend daily supplementation for those of us stuggling to get those 2 portions into our busy lives ๐Ÿ˜‰.

๐Ÿ™„ A plea from ADHD 15 year old me ๐Ÿซฃ honestly very little has changed for us, which is madness, right? We learn so much about minds that think differently but rarely impliment in real terms!

I can't have another teen dispondently sit in front of me broken by not being seen, heard or understood. These minds that have so much to give deserve more โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน. We can do better, we must do better.

Omega 3
Magnesium
B vitamins
Zinc
Vitamin D
Iron

๐Ÿ™Œ Packing protein into every dish, yes natural fats & fibre are also important, but protein is key!

ADHD TEENS - when is it ok to mask?

Thought I would voice my thoughts as I love working with this group of young people. Masking has a place at different times & in certain environments in our lives. Our nervous systems can manage this if, and only if, we have safe places & people in which / with whom to regulate.

This is a hard but necesary learn for our neurodivergent teens & something we review in coaching - what are your thoughts?
