The Tower is one of the most feared cards in tarot, but most of the time it doesn’t appear to punish you. It appears when something in your life has already become unstable long before it finally starts falling apart.
A relationship built on pretending.
A version of yourself built on survival.
A life held together by fear, avoidance or constantly abandoning your own needs.
And usually, deep down, you already knew.
That’s the difficult part about this card. The Tower rarely brings completely unexpected truths. It tends to reveal the ones you’ve been trying not to look at for a very long time.
Yes, change can feel painful. Things can suddenly shift. People can leave. Plans can collapse. Certainty can disappear overnight.
But sometimes the breakdown isn’t the tragedy.
Sometimes the tragedy is how long you stayed somewhere that no longer felt true for you.
The Tower doesn’t destroy your life. It clears away what can no longer hold the weight of who you’re becoming.
