“I’ve always been the one who keeps things together.”
Not with pride. Not with resentment. Just as a statement of how things were. Like her eye colour or which hand she writes with.
We sat with it for a moment.
Then, quietly: “I don’t actually know when I decided that.”
She hadn’t. That was the thing. Some scripts don’t get chosen. They arrive already written, lived out so early there was no version of you that existed before them.
This is the work. Not fixing it. Just beginning to see it.
I work with women on this one to one in therapy and coaching. Link in my bio or drop me a message to find out more.
