🏉 First Aid in Age-Grade Rugby – What Your Club Needs to Know

When it comes to age=grade rugby, the RFU’s RugbySafe First Aid & Immediate Care Standards set clear expectations for every age group:

👦 U7 & U8

Minimum: 1 First Aider per 40 players across both age groups.
Best practice: 1 First Aider per age group.

👧 U9 – U12

Minimum: 1 First Aider per 40 players (training) and 1 per age group (matches).
Best practice: 1 First Aider per match.

🧑 U13 – U18

Minimum: 1 First Aider per 40 players (training) and 1 per match.
Best practice: 1 First Aider per team.

Owner and Director Cathryn has had a busy weekend. Lead Physiotherapist with Northumberland RFU, she accompanied the Men’s Team to Twickenham as they played in the Bill Beaumont Division 2 Final at Allianz Stadium.

Sadly it wasn’t to be Northumberland’s day as they lost narrowly 28 - 30 to North Midlands. The lads played incredibly well and should be super proud of their performance yesterday and the previous 4 matches of the tournament.

What a day on Saturday for our Director Cathryn.

She was Physio again for Northumberland RFU Men’s team who beat Staffordshire 51 - 3 to get to the final at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham next weekend 🎉

Cathryn is super excited at the thought of working pitchside there next Sunday afternoon. She said “I am so proud of this team. They’ve worked so hard and played some amazing rugby. I just hope I can get on and off the very wide pitch quickly enough!”

Another 10 rugby personnel achieving the Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work qualification and covering RFU specific modules in fractures, spinal injuries, head injuries and concussion and return to play. 🏉⛑️
