And we've reached the end of Dietitian's Week 2026!

Thank you for your engagement this week and for sharing your experiences. I hope you've found it interesting and maybe now have a better idea of what working with a dietitian looks like.

To wrap up the week, I thought I'd share a bit more about me!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

What actually changes when someone works with a dietitian?

Contrary to popular belief, seeing a dietitian is not just about managing weight!

What may be impacting patients before:
❌ Confused by conflicting nutrition advice
❌ Struggling with IBS and not knowing what triggers symptoms
❌ Low energy, poor routine, feeling out of control
❌ Raised blood sugar levels, cholesterol and/or blood pressure

What happens after:
✔️ Clear, realistic approach to eating
✔️ More consistent habits (without extremes)
✔️ Better energy and structure to the day
✔️ A calmer, more balanced relationship with food
✔️ Health markers within range
✔️ Symptom control
✔️ Improved quality of life

And yes, sometimes there are weight changes too!

Today we are sharing some wonderful comments from people who have worked with Debbie - the common themes? Feeling more in control, more confident, and less overwhelmed.

That’s the difference sustainable nutrition support can make.

💬 What’s something you wish felt easier about your eating habits?

As I work alone and not part of a dietetic team, I thought I would slightly tweak todays theme of celebrating our wins, by sharing some of the wins I see regularly in my patients✨

Not all successes come with dramatic transformations or headline-grabbing results.

Sometimes the biggest achievements are the quiet ones:
✨ Watching someone rediscover a regular eating routine and realise that nourishing themselves is worth prioritising
✨ Seeing food become a source of enjoyment rather than stress, anxiety, or constant worry
✨ Hearing someone say they have more energy, are sleeping better, or simply feel more like themselves again
✨ Supporting people to let go of the pressure to be perfect and embrace small, sustainable changes
✨ Seeing confidence grow as people realise they are capable of making positive changes that last

These moments may seem small, but they can represent huge steps forward for the people we work with.

As dietitians, it's a privilege to support people through these changes and celebrate progress that isn't always visible on the outside. Because meaningful change isn't about perfection - it's about building habits, confidence and wellbeing that lasts.

This Dietitians Week, I'm celebrating the small wins, the steady progress, and everyone who has trusted me to be part of their journey. 💚

Debbie here for Dietitians Week Day 2 👋🏻✨️

People often think seeing a dietitian means being handed a meal plan and told what to eat. In reality, my role is so much more than that.

As a dietitian, I work with people to understand their relationship with food, overcome barriers, build sustainable habits, and make changes that fit their lives.

Nutrition is important, but behaviour change is the building block that allows nutritional changes to be sustained.

In this video, I'm sharing a little insight into what my role looks like and how dietitians support people to improve their health and wellbeing in ways that are realistic, achievable, and long-lasting.

This week we are celebrating Dietitians Week 2026!

We are lucky to have an in house dietitian across Templer Care PCN and this week we're taking the opportunity to shine a light on the incredible work dietitians do every day.

The value of dietetics can't always be measured in numbers, but it can always be felt.

It's found in the conversations that help someone feel heard, understood and supported. It's in the guidance that helps people manage complex health conditions, regain confidence around food, and improve their quality of life. It's in the support offered to colleagues, students and healthcare teams, and in the ideas that drive innovation, research and service improvement.

These moments may not always seem significant on their own, but their impact can be profound. They can be the difference between confusion and clarity, anxiety and reassurance, illness and improved health.

A career in dietetics is more than just a job. It is a profession grounded in science, compassion and a commitment to improving lives.

To get the week started, Debbie is sharing a bit about her 'why' 😊
