💭 Is £70–£100 for beautiful hair really expensive?
Let’s look at it differently…
A professional colour service can last and look beautiful for up to 6 months, depending on the technique, your hair, the colour chosen and how you care for it at home.
So let’s do the maths:
✨ £70 ÷ 6 months = £11.67 per month
✨ £100 ÷ 6 months = £16.67 per month
That’s approximately £2.70–£3.85 per week for beautiful hair that makes you feel confident every day.
And this is exactly why I believe that colour should be seen as an investment, not just an expense.
I am a qualified Level 3 Hairdresser, and I don't simply apply colour and hope for the best.
Every colour service is carefully planned around your hair, its condition, your lifestyle and the result you want to achieve.
The aim is not only to create a beautiful colour on the day.
It is to create a colour that can grow out beautifully, remain wearable and continue to look good over time.
Because your hair is something you wear every single day.

✨ WHY DOES DARK HAIR TAKE SO LONG TO BECOME BLONDE? ✨

“I want to go from dark hair to blonde… preferably today!” 😅

And this is where the real magic — and chemistry — begins 🤍
Dark hair does not become blonde in one step.
During the lightening process, the hair goes through different underlying pigments:

🤎 Brown
🧡 Orange
💛 Yellow
💛 Pale yellow

Only when we reach the correct level of lightness can we create the desired blonde shade.

And here is something very important:
IS NOT THE .

Bleach removes natural or artificial pigment from the hair. After lightening, the hair may be much lighter, but it often needs the correct pigment added back in order to create a beautiful, finished colour.

This is why we usually need a second step after lightening: TONING or COLOURING.
🎨 We can:

✨ Add pigment — beige, golden, caramel, neutral or creamy tones
✨ Neutralise unwanted yellow or orange tones
✨ Create the final blonde shade — ash, beige, creamy, honey, pearl and many more

This is also why two clients can be lightened to a similar level but end up with completely different blonde results after toning.
There are many different ways to create beautiful blonde hair from a darker base:

✨ FULL HEAD HIGHLIGHTS
For a much lighter, brighter overall result.
✨ BABYLIGHTS
Very fine, delicate highlights for a soft and natural blonde.
✨ MONEY PIECE / FACE FRAMING
Brighter pieces around the face to instantly brighten the whole look.
✨ BALAYAGE WITHOUT LOWLIGHTS
A softer, lighter and more blonde-focused result.
✨ BALAYAGE WITH LOWLIGHTS
A combination of lighter and darker pieces to create depth, dimension and a more natural-looking result.
✨ FOILAYAGE
A combination of balayage and foils when we need more lift and brightness.

✨ DIMENSIONAL BLONDE
A combination of different blonde shades and deeper pieces to avoid a flat, one-dimensional colour.
And now, the most important part:

⏳ TIME + THE CONDITION OF THE HAIR = THE RESULT

Dark, thick, previously coloured or repeatedly coloured hair may need more than one session to safely achieve a light blonde.
Sometimes a beautiful transformation is possible in one longer appointment.
Sometimes the healthiest and most realistic option is to create the result over several appointments.
The price and appointment time can depend on:

✨ The length and density of the hair
✨ The previous colour history
✨ The chosen technique
✨ The amount of product needed
✨ The time required
✨ How light you want to go

So “blonde” does not always mean the same service, the same amount of work or the same price.
The lightest blonde is not always the most beautiful blonde.

Why do highlights turn yellow? 💛
One of the biggest misconceptions is that blonde highlights should stay icy forever. The truth is... yellow tones are completely normal.
When hair is lightened, the natural warm pigments (yellow and gold) are exposed. Even if your blonde looks cool on the day of your appointment, these warm tones gradually reappear as the toner fades.
✨ My technique
I first create clean, well-lifted highlights while protecting the integrity of the hair. Then I customise an ash toner to neutralise unwanted yellow tones and create a soft, natural-looking blonde. The toner doesn't lighten the hair—it simply refines the colour by cancelling out warmth.
To keep your blonde fresh for longer:
💜 Use a purple shampoo once a week (don't overuse it). 🩶 Refresh your toner every 6–8 weeks. ☀️ Protect your hair from the sun, chlorine and hard water, as they can make blonde look warmer. 🔥 Always use a heat protectant before styling. ✨ Use colour-safe, professional hair care products.
Remember: Yellow doesn't mean your highlights were done incorrectly—it simply means your toner has faded.
Healthy blonde is a journey, not a one-day result. With the right maintenance, your blonde can stay beautiful, shiny and fresh between appointments.
