NCA Maternity Triage 0161 627 8179

If you have an urgent matter call Triage from 16 weeks if you have any of the following concerns:

🚨Vaginal bleeding or spotting
🚨Severe or sharp abdominal pain or cramping
🚨Leaking fluid from the va**na (sudden or leaking)
🚨Severe headache or visual changes such as floaters or flashing lights
🚨Swelling in face, hands or feet
🚨Cramps in your lower back or pelvic area
🚨Itching especially on hands and feet
🚨Painful urination
🚨Change in your baby's movements (decreased, changed, absent or excessive)
🚨High temperature, fever or rigors
🚨Severe nausea or vomiting
🚨Shortness of breath or chest pain (999)
🚨You feel that something is wrong

Your maternity unit will assess you over the phone, always trust your gut instinct and call for advice.

If you have any barriers to calling triage, your midwife will have discussed Open Access where you can attend without needing to call to prevent any delays - please present to the triage reception area.

Depending on the nature and urgency of your call we might sign post you to another appropriate health professional such as GP, community midwife or health visiting team

If you are under 16 weeks please contact your GP, 111 (out of hours) or accident and emergency.

Please register before you are 10 weeks pregnant as this allows us to offer you some screening tests.

STUDENTS - We are a designated training facility for students undertaking health professional training, so you may encounter student midwives or other students working under the supervision of a qualified professional. You may wish to discuss this with the midwife providing your care.
