πŸ“– Shared Reading Session πŸ“–
Omagh Library
Wednesday 9th September at 12 noon

Shared Reading is a welcoming, non-medical approach to supporting mental and physical wellbeing.

Unlike a traditional book club, there is no need to read anything in advance.

A trained leader reads stories and poems aloud, encouraging relaxed discussion and connection.

Key benefits include:
β€’ Reduces loneliness and social isolation by providing a safe, welcoming space to connect with others.
β€’ Supports mental wellbeing, including anxiety and low mood.
β€’ Encourages conversation, reflection and shared experiences.
β€’ Accessible to everyone, with no pressure to read aloud or contribute.
β€’ Can support people living with dementia, chronic pain and other health challenges.
β€’ Focuses on the person rather than their diagnosis, encouraging self-expression and connection.

To join, telephone Omagh Library: 028 82 440733.
