You’ll just end up standing in a cold park by yourself, mate."
When I first brought up the idea of starting a weekly walk-and-talk for men back in 2021, the doubt was immediate. People meant well, but the skepticism was everywhere:
💬 "Men don't talk about their feelings. Good luck getting anyone to show up."
💬 "Blokes prefer the pub—they won't open up without a pint in their hand."
💬 "You're not a therapist. A walk isn't going to solve clinical depression."
💬 "Men are too proud to admit they’re struggling to a group of strangers."
💬 "It might work in one park, but blokes won't stay consistent."
What those comments missed was something fundamental about how men actually connect:
Men do want to talk. They just don't want to sit in a spotlight across a desk. They don't want to feel like a case file or answer clinical interrogations.
They want to walk side-by-side. No forced eye contact. No forms to fill out. No pressure. Just human connection on a path.
Fast forward to today:
📍 Almost 80 weekly walks running nationwide.
👥 Hundreds of men stepping off the pressure cooker every week.
🤝 Lives changed, friendships formed, and a national brotherhood built from scratch.
If you’ve got an idea to help your community and people are listing all the reasons it won't work—do it anyway. The people who need it are waiting for you to build it.
To every man who was told blokes don't talk: come show them otherwise this week.
📍 Completely free. No referrals. No judgment.
