At times in our lives, we all face struggles, but no one should have to carry them alone. Having people around you who listen, understand, and support you can make all the difference.
Through shared experiences, we remind one another that there is always hope, strength, and a way forward. Every conversation, every bit of support, and every person who walks through the door helps to build a community where men can speak openly, be themselves, and know they are not alone.
With that in mind, I’d like to recognise some of the members of our community and the people around us who are helping to make a positive difference:
Oswestry Walk: Men Walking & Talking have been meeting consistently every Thursday at 7:00pm on Red Square for the past four years. They are part of the wider Men’s Walking and Talking network, which now has over 85 groups nationwide.
Oswestry Community Action continue to go above and beyond in supporting all sectors of the local community. They have recently launched a new men’s breakfast group, which meets on the last Friday of every month at 10:30am.
Groups like these play a vital role in bringing people together, breaking down barriers, and creating safe spaces where people feel heard and supported. Whether it’s over a walk, a brew, a slice of pizza, breakfast, or simply a conversation, every connection matters. By sharing our experiences, supporting one another, and strengthening the bonds within our community, we can continue to build a culture where no one has to face life’s challenges alone. Together, we are stronger, and together, we can make a positive difference in the lives of those around us.
