Think you might have a urinary tract infection (UTI)? Your local pharmacy may be able to help πŸ’ŠπŸ’™

UTIs are common infections that can affect the bladder, urethra or kidneys. Symptoms can include:
β€’ pain or a burning sensation when p*eing
β€’ needing to p*e more often or urgently
β€’ cloudy or strong-smelling urine
β€’ pain in your lower tummy ⚠️

Through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eligible women aged 16 to 64 with uncomplicated UTI symptoms may be able to receive advice and treatment directly from a pharmacist without needing a GP appointment πŸ‘

Getting treatment quickly can help relieve symptoms and prevent the infection from becoming more serious πŸ’™

If symptoms are severe, you have a high temperature, back pain, are pregnant, or symptoms do not improve, you should seek further medical advice 🩺

Your pharmacist is highly trained and can advise on the most appropriate treatment for you 🀝

The GP Practice National Patient Survey results for 2026 have been released. This is an independent survey carried out annually by IPSO Mori on behalf of NHS England and is sent out to 2 million patients across the country. The Patient Survey is an important tool that allows practices to compare their experiences of their patients compared to other practices across England. However, as with previous years, the number of questionnaires sent out and returned represent a very small sample of patients. Of 321 questionnaires sent out, only 103 were returned. This is a 32% return and is a sample of only 1.05% of patients.

We are delighted that 87% of respondents said that their overall experience of us is good. This compares with a national result of 77% and 77% in Shropshire Telford and Wrekin. We are aware however that 87% is not good enough and we continually strive to improve. We hope that the recent introduction of an online triage and appointment booking system will continue to improve the service that we provide. We are committed to listening to our patients and taking your feedback seriously.

Measuring your waist can help you understand more about your health πŸ’™

This video explains how to measure your waist so you can calculate your waist-to-height ratio πŸ“

Your waist-to-height ratio is another way to check whether you may be carrying too much weight around your tummy, alongside your Body Mass Index (BMI). Carrying excess weight around your middle can increase your risk of conditions such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and heart disease ⚠️

It only takes a few minutes to check and can help you make informed decisions about your health and wellbeing πŸ‘

Calculate your waist-to-height ratio here:

17/07/2026

From 21st July we will be adopting a new online system that allows patients to book appointments and submit admin queries.

A key difference between our new system and what you may have heard being introduced at other surgeries, is that if appointments are available, you will be able to book your appointment there and then. You won’t have to wait for someone to call you back. We believe that the new system will ensure that patients who are in most of need of an appointment will be able to book one.

The new system will not create more appointments. Our clinicians are already working very hard, and it would be unsafe for them to see more patients in a day than they currently do. Instead, we are trying to do more with the resources we have, aiming to ensure that the patient is seen at the right time by the right clinician.

The form will be clearly displayed and available on our website. It can be accessed by a smartphone, tablet or computer.

If you do not have access to a smartphone, tablet or computer, or are unable to use the online form, that’s not a problem. You will still be able to telephone the practice. A receptionist will take your call and submit the form on your behalf by completing it over the telephone. However, we would like to encourage everyone who CAN use the online form to use it. Completing the form will be quicker than waiting on the telephone to speak to a receptionist.

We are committed to providing excellent access to appointments for all our patients and are excited about incorporating new technology that we feel will improve our patients experience of contacting the practice.
