What a wonderful afternoon that was!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Community Games Group yesterday. The room was full of laughter, friendly rivalry and plenty of chatter over a warm cuppa, which is exactly how we like it!

If you missed us this time, don't worry. Our Community Games Group takes place on the last Tuesday of every month, so pop it in your diary! Pull up a chair, bring a favourite game if you fancy, and come and join the fun. We are here from 2.30pm until 3.30pm and everyone is welcome.

Thank you again to everyone who came along and made it such a special couple of hours. See you on the last Tuesday of next month!

Tomorrow is going to be a good one!

Our Community Games Group is taking place tomorrow and we would love for you to join us! Pull up a chair, grab a warm cuppa and spend a couple of hours doing what you love. Games, laughter and great company are all on the menu!

We have got plenty to keep you busy, from jigsaws and dominoes to Scrabble, draughts, chess and beyond. Or if you have a favourite at home, tuck it under your arm and bring it with you!

All ages, all abilities, everyone welcome. It really is as simple as that.
We are here from 2.30pm until 3.30pm and we would absolutely love to see you.

🎲 REMINDER: COMMUNITY GAMES GROUP 🎲

Our next session is Tuesday 28th July, 2.30 to 3.30pm at Harbour Rise Care Home, 2 Alta Vista Road, TQ4 6BZ.

Come along for a cuppa ☕ while playing games: jigsaws, draughts, dominoes, Scrabble, chess, or bring your own game! ♟️🧩

Have fun and make friends. All ages welcome! 😊

Why not bring a friend, neighbour or family member along too? The more the merrier! Please share this post and invite others who might enjoy it. 💕

☀️ What a fantastic day! ☀️

Last Saturday, Harbour Rise Care Home proudly hosted our very first Summer BBQ, and what a wonderful success it was! We were blessed with beautiful sunshine, enjoyed a fantastic turnout from our residents, families and friends, and our raffle was a great success.

The highlight of the day was seeing families spending quality time together, making special memories with their loved ones in such a happy and relaxed atmosphere.

A special thank you goes to all the wonderful local companies who generously donated raffle prizes, helping to make our fundraising raffle such a success. We are also incredibly grateful to our amazing volunteers, whose time, enthusiasm and support helped the day run so smoothly. We couldn't have done it without you!

Thank you to everyone who came along and made our first Summer BBQ such a memorable occasion. We can't wait to do it all again next year! 💙🌭🎶☀️

Carer & Cared For Peer Support Group - July Session ☕

Our next session, in partnership with Torbay Communities, is coming up and we'd love to welcome you! 🎉

These relaxed, friendly sessions are designed for those caring for a loved one at home. While carers enjoy a cup of tea, conversation and mutual support, their loved ones take part in gentle activities in a safe, warm environment with our team.

It's a chance to connect, share experiences and enjoy a little breathing space together. Whether it's your first time or you've joined us before, you'll be warmly welcomed.

🌟 Meet the Team – Say Hello to Ruth! 🌟

This week we're delighted to introduce one of our wonderful team members... the lovely Ruth! 💙

Ruth grew up in Wolverhampton and originally thought her future was going to be in the classroom. After enjoying school, she studied an Access to Teaching course and was all set for university to become a teacher.

But life had other plans.

While caring for her mum, Ruth discovered something incredibly special about herself. The doctors caring for her mum noticed her natural compassion and kindness and told her she would make an amazing carer. They couldn't have been more right. ❤️

In 2006, Ruth swapped lesson plans for care plans and began working in domiciliary care, supporting people in her local community. Her dedication and genuine care for others saw her progress to the role of Care Coordinator, where she continued making a real difference to people's lives.

In 2021, Ruth made the move to beautiful Paignton with her three wonderful children, and earlier this year we were lucky enough to welcome her to the Harbour Rise family.

Since joining us, Ruth has become an invaluable member of the team, supporting residents in a variety of roles across the home. No matter where she's working, she brings the same kindness, positivity and caring nature that our residents and their families have quickly come to know and appreciate.

Outside of work, Ruth loves being outdoors. Whether she's kayaking, paddle boarding, enjoying coastal walks or practising yoga, she embraces every opportunity to enjoy nature. Add a bit of dance music into the mix and she's one very happy lady! 🎶🌊

Residents recently enjoyed one of Ruth's magical mystery bus trips, with a special visit to the beautiful Thatcher's Rock. There were plenty of smiles, lots of fresh sea air and wonderful memories made together. 🚌✨

Ruth has a smile that's truly infectious and a way of making everyone around her feel welcome. She's settled into Harbour Rise so naturally and has become a favourite with residents, families and colleagues alike.

When asked what she loves most about her job, Ruth simply said:

"I love the interactions with the residents and the joy we bring to them." 💙

We couldn't have said it better ourselves.

Thank you, Ruth, for your kindness, compassion and everything you do each day.

We're so grateful to have you as part of the Harbour Rise family. 🥰
