🥳Happy 2nd Birthday Harris🥳

Harris’ mum has sent us over an update on Harris in light of his 2nd birthday today🤩

“Just a little update on our little 3lb boy, Harris, who will be 2!

Harris is a turning into a crazy, sassy toddler more every day, and his favourite thing to do is play football.

We will forever be grateful to everyone who helped look after Harris & helped get him home. We wouldn’t be here today without you all. Thanks again x”

All of us at RAH NICU are wishing Harris a wonderful 2nd birthday, hopefully with lots of cake to celebrate🎂🎈🤍

🤍👩🏼‍⚕️Happy International Neonatal Nurses Day👩🏼‍⚕️🤍

Our amazing neonatal nurses care for premature and sick newborn babies, monitoring their health, providing treatments, helping with feeding and breathing support, and supporting their families. For us all, it is a challenging but incredibly rewarding role, helping some of the tiniest patients get the best possible start in life👶🏽

All of our fantastic neonatal nurses show care, compassion, patience, resilience and attention to detail.
Also, we need to be able to stay calm under pressure, communicate well, work as part of a team and make responsible decisions to combat these challenges everyday⭐️

Today is about celebrating everyone who fulfils this role and is on their own journey to fulfilling it with our little superstars and their families at the for front of our minds😇

Thank you to all our outstanding neonatal nurses in the RAH Maternity NICU for all that you do for our babies and their families - we appreciate you🤩🫶🏽

A big happy Easter Sunday to everyone, we hope everyone has had a fun filled day and that the Easter bunny brought lots of goodies🍫🐣

The NICU superstars were busy bunnies doing some fun filled easter crafts and the easter bunny hopped along to see what they’ve been up to🐰💛

🩷 Romy 🩷

On Monday 23rd March NICU superstar Romy finally made it home with her parents, big brother and big sister after 143 days between RHC and RAH NICU 🥳

Mum Sally was happy to share Romy’s amazing journey in NICU -
“Our little warrior, born at just 23 weeks and 6 days. From 1lb to 9lb by 44 weeks, Romy has shown incredible strength every single day.

She has faced jaundice, blood transfusions, ROP, lung disease, and multiple infections. After 143 days between QEUH and RAH, and thanks to their incredible care, she is finally home on oxygen and reunited with her family (it sometimes felt like Romy was in no rush to leave, with a few delayed discharge dates along the way!).

We will never be able to thank the Neonatal team enough for everything they have done for Romy. They treated her like one of their own, showing so much love, care, and dedication throughout her journey. We are forever grateful and will truly miss all of the staff ❤️”

Our entire team at RAH Neonatal unit are overjoyed for Romy and her family, and wish them all the best starting their life as a family of 5 at home! We will miss Romy’s gorgeous little face on the unit as she’s become part of the NICU family 🥰 🫶🏼🤍
