I've been a bit preoccupied with my boys and have had to postpone some sessions recently, so thanks to people for understanding.

I am able to pop out to see clients local to where my horses are kept though, and had the pleasure of these two last weekend, before Finn got whisked away to Glasgow 😅

Marco was so sweet, he's quite mouthy but a lovely boy and he really enjoyed his session, especially fascial work around his shoulders.

Mary was a previous Quad X star, who unfortunately has had even more mishaps since I last saw her. She was almost falling asleep while I did some fascial release on her hind legs and back to help support her recent injury. Her lovely owner has had a lot to deal with recently, so I really hope things improve soon.

With Zeph still on restricted exercise after his lameness work up Finn got in on the action last week and sustained a nasty kick injury.
Unfortunately these things happen with herd living, and I'd hoped we could treat it with good wound management, antibiotics and pain relief.

But sadly no, the wound worsened over the weekend and Finn is currently trying out the 5 * facilities at Glasgow Vet Hospital!
He had a full set of diagnostics yesterday - we already knew the superficial bursa in the hock was infected, but luckily it seems the others are ok, so he's had the wound debrided and flushed under sedation. More tests to come and he may still need further treatment under GA, but he's in good hands.

He was very brave especially considering how he doesn't really leave the track much these days!

I need to give massive thanks to Ed at Solway Equine Vets again for his treatment - he had suggested Finn might need surgery at the start, but I chose a more conservative approach which unfortunately wasn't enough for Finn 💸💸 thank goodness for insurance!

I almost always recommend this exercise, along with the accompanying forward limb technique. I like it because you are NOT stretching the leg, but encouraging relaxation whilst paying attention to the horse and how it moves the limbs.

These guys made me smile yesterday ☺️

Unfortunately both of my boys are incapacitated at the moment so I'm spending pretty much all my spare time with them, foraging treats and cheering them up.
Luckily Ellie and her gang aren't too far away so I popped over midday to see Sia and Angus. It was especially lovely to see Sia looking so well after a pretty serious health scare earlier in the year, and she was such a sweet girl today.

Angus also deserves a mention for just being Angus 😁

I had the pleasure of meeting this handsome little chap yesterday evening.
He had recently had a chiropractic session with my friend Rachel Hamer who thought he'd benefit from different bodywork to compliment what she had found and treated.
He certainly seemed to benefit from the massage and fascial release I did and was much more fluid through his whole body afterwards. Our different techniques and training really compliment each other, and we share a few clients now 😊

It's always lovely to catch up with Eva and Casey, but yesterday's session was even better as I got to meet the gorgeous Bodhi 😍

Casey was camera shy, but I thought I'd show the before and after photos. I'm always a bit reluctant to share these as camera angles and where the horse is standing/sun is shining from etc have an effect, but there's a pretty clear improvement here.

She's still returning to fitness after a health wobble earlier in the year but is doing well. After the initial assessment, which is pretty routine, I tailor my sessions to what each horse needs or asks for. This time I started with diaphragm work, followed by psoas, lumbar and pelvic moves. Using a combination of fascial release, mobilisations and CST. I'm still working out how to incorporate CST into my sessions, but really like how my work has evolved especially over the last year or so ❤️

Zeph had his lameness work up yesterday afternoon. Big thanks to Ed and Hannah from Solway Equine Vets for their time and expertise. Thankfully nothing horrendous was found, but he significantly improved after his hock joints had been nerve blocked, so we've got a plan going forwards and will have to see how he responds to the treatment.

He was a little star, and although he was getting bored of trotting up towards the end he stood really nicely for the nerve block injections and x-rays ⭐️

Hopefully we'll be out and about exploring again soon

I finally made time for a proper CST session with Finn today. He provided great feedback as always, and showed a big improvement in his SI and pelvis afterwards. He also had more spring in his step ❤️

Then I paid handsome Jasper a visit for his third acupressure session for headshaking. His owner reports that although they haven't been out as much as usual this summer, that the sessions have certainly helped him which was great to hear. Thanks to my friend Sue of QiEquine for her help with this.
