TRE (tension & trauma release exercises) is a wonderful practice that once you’ve learned how to access could benefit you for the rest of your life.

Through a set of gentle exercises you will be guided into a natural tremor response that happens in the body. Often starting in the hips and legs and sometimes moving through the whole body, people often report the feeling as relaxing and meditative. You’re always in control of your tremors and they can be stopped at any time.

Personally I’ve found them helpful in releasing muscle tension, calming anxiety and getting a good night’s sleep!

You can book on my website: jessnorth.com

Or send me a msg if you have any questions or you’d like to chat something through.

I started jumping for about 1 minute at a time on a retreat in May.

Lately I’ve been including a bit of jumping in quite a few of my online classes.

But, why?

Jumping is one simple way to introduce a little impact into your movement. It’s a lot of bang for your buck! As 1 minute jumping up and down sure does get bring in some heat to the body and a quick way to say- yep I’ve done some cardio today!

It can help support bone strength, strengthen the lower body, and challenge balance and coordination. I’ve personally noticed a subtle toning in my pelvic floor muscles too, post childbirth. Hooray! 🥳 (just go for a wee before jumping iykyk)

It doesn’t have to be dramatic! Little hops or bounces where you go up on to your toes and let your heels drop also count.

Our bodies need stretching, but they also need strengthening, loading, balancing, wobbling and occasionally jumping.

Obviously, jumping isn’t appropriate for everyone, and if impact doesn’t feel good in your body, please don’t!

But if it feels good for you… maybe it’s time to get your feet off the floor. 🐇

Maybe the practice isn’t always about changing how we feel.

Not every moment needs optimising and not every difficult feeling needs fixing.

Sometimes anxiety  sadness, or grief is here and perhaps the practice is simply learning that we can stay with it all.

We can breathe and we can move our bodies.

We don’t have to like everything we feel.

But perhaps we don’t always have to run from it either.

What if, just for a moment, you didn’t need to become a better version of yourself?

And instead you could simply be.

This is your invitation to take a short pause today and simply lie down and breathe!

19/08/2026

Take a 30 second break and stretch out your neck!

03/08/2026

This is a class called “yoga for when you don’t wanna do yoga.” It’s 15 minutes and here it is condensed into 15 seconds.

We all know the feeling… I know it will make me feel better but I can’t quite roll out the mat. When I feel like that, I trick myself into it.

- I’ll just light a candle
- I’ll just lie down with my legs over this bolster

One thing normally leads to another and I’m in chaturanga before I know it!

That’s what this class is designed to do. It eases you in gently but makes sure you get a good stretch in your legs, spine and side body.

Enjoy!

Anxious? Hormonal?

I got you.

Practice this…

- place one hand on your heart

- inhale for a count of 4

- exhale for a count of 8 (6 if 8 is too much)

- set a timer on your phone for 2 minutes and keep practicing

Let me know if it’s helpful.

Head, Neck & Shoulder Relaxation 🌿

If you keep rubbing at your shoulders, thinking ouch! Then, this week’s class is for you.

Together we’ll gently release tension through the head, neck and shoulders, soften tight muscles, improve mobility, and create a little more space to breathe.

✨ This week’s full-length class is available now for my paid Substack subscribers.

And if you’re not quite ready to subscribe, don’t worry—a free hip-opening class will be arriving on Wednesday, so there’s something for everyone.

I’d love for you to join me on the mat.

Wow! I just slept so well. Could it be because I spent 2 hours in a lavender field doing gorgeous breathwork with the luminous Anna Anna De Vere ?!

Thank you Anna & Trenow Fields

What an incredible experience. The lavender smelled incredible and with views of the sea and St Michael’s Mount, it was beautiful everywhere I looked.
