💙A huge thanks to everyone who supported the unique sleepover event at Peterborough Cathedral on Friday – making it a roar-some success in support of young hospital patients.

Over 120 people – including siblings Felix (9) and Iris (8) - spent the night in the Cathedral sleeping beneath Titanosaur, one of world’s largest dinosaurs! d🦖✨

Our friends at the Cathedral are supporting Amazon Ward through the fantastic family event, which is set to raise thousands of pounds .

Proceeds will be shared equally between North West Anglia Hospitals Charity - Amazon Ward Children's Fund and Peterborough Cathedral’s charitable work.

Receive Your Appointment Reminders Through the NHS App

If you have the NHS App installed and notifications enabled on your device, you may receive appointment reminders and other important healthcare information directly through the app.

Why use the NHS App?

The NHS App provides a secure way to receive healthcare communications from NHS organisations. Messages received through the app are protected and can be accessed at a time that is convenient for you.

What if I don't use the NHS App?

Don't worry. If you do not view messages through the NHS App, or if notifications cannot be delivered, you will continue to receive appointment reminders through alternative channels, such as text messages from DrDoctor.

How do I receive notifications?

To receive alerts when a new message is available:
1. Download and log in to the NHS App.
2. Enable notifications within the NHS App.
3. Ensure notifications are allowed within your phone or tablet settings.

Using the NHS App helps you stay informed about your care and appointments, wherever and whenever it is convenient for you.

Halfway through his 300‑mile sponsored bike ride in support of Cancer Research UK, Glenn kindly stopped by Peterborough City Hospital NHS today with flowers for our staff and toys for the children on Amazon Ward.
His thoughtful gesture brought a little extra brightness to the day for both our team and the young people in their care.
We wish him well for the rest of his journey and thank him for thinking of us along the way.

We were ready to shout HOUSE! today after receiving a cheque from the wonderful Corby Glen & Swinstead Bingo Club, who raised an incredible £1,000 for the Cancer Day Unit at Peterborough City Hospital NHS. Their generosity really was the winning card.

Presenting the cheque to the Day Unit Team was Richard King, who, along with his brother Vic, has been a patient of the Unit.

Vic, speaking on behalf of his brother, said: "From the moment we are greeted by the reception team, through to those providing treatment, we feel cared for by these incredible people. We wanted to show our gratitude by making this donation. Thank you to all the wonderful staff on the Day Unit for their warmth, humour and exceptional care — you make even the toughest days feel that little bit lighter."

Philip Fearn, Charity Project Manager, thanked the members of the Bingo Club and said: "Gifts like these remind us how powerful community spirit can be. Every penny helps us support patients with comfort, dignity and compassion, and we’re so grateful for the joy and generosity behind this donation."

If you're eligible, you can now get your free MenB vaccine.
MenB can cause serious illnesses like meningitis and septicaemia.
You may be eligible if you are:
✅ 17 to 18 years old and born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008
✅ Under 25 and starting university or moving into residential further education for the first time
Eligible 17 to 18-year-olds born between these dates can book online if they’re registered with a GP in England. Eligible under-25s can get vaccinated at a participating pharmacy – no GP registration is needed.
You'll need 2 doses, given at least 4 weeks apart, for the best protection.
