Webinar for parents of Autistic children who display OCD behaviours. I've attended Dr Naomi Fisher webinars before and find them very informative.
OCD takes many forms. Checking that the lights are off, needing to touch all the corners of the room before you leave. Not trusting that the door is actually locked and needing to go back and check – many many times. Worrying that you might cause illness to those that you love, or obsessively checking your pencil case to make sure that you’ve got everything. Lying in bed worrying that perhaps you will do something which would get a behaviour point, and someone will notice. Again and again.
Many autistic children show OCD-like behaviours, even when they don’t have a formal diagnosis. It can be hard for parents to work out what is autism and what is OCD. In this brand new webinar I will explain OCD and how it intersects with autism. I’ll talk about how OCD can act as a trap for the whole family – and how parents can help.
It’s suitable for all autistic children who are showing signs of OCD, whether or not they meet formal diagnostic criteria. Based on psychological theory and clinical practice. It’s recorded. Please share if you know parents who might benefit.
