A great afternoon spent with Marie from Animals2usouthwest. Everyone was very brave holding a tarantula and loved seeing the ferrets frolicking around the lounge, we had to keep an eye on the tortoises who kept trying to make a break for it down the corridor.

Last week we had a visit from Lakemoor Alpacas. The residents love seeing Thunderball and Hagrid and feeding them carrots. They were extra fluffy as they are nearly ready for their haircut.

Today we had a great visit from Sharandys Birds of Prey. It’s so great to see the residents faces light up as they hold and learn all about these beautiful creatures. Such a unique experience.

Today we held our Travel Club, our first destination was Mexico. We watched a documentary about the country this morning and then this afternoon we listened to a Mariachi band while enjoying Margaritas and nachos.

This afternoon we held a Golf tournament and big congratulations to our winner, Margaret. If was great fun but everyone was very sneaky about how good they are at golf.

This afternoon we all met Ethel and Lottie from Tavistock Therapy Goats. What a great time we had learning all about the goats and getting lots of cuddles.

What a week we’ve had. Music, fun and laughter filled the home. And we’ve finally started getting our balconies looking ready for summer days spent in the sun. Make sure you keep an eye on the changes we are making to make the spaces more enjoyable.

We had a lovely visit from PAT dog Sheeva this afternoon, she’s so relaxed and wonderful with our residents. It’s also nice to see residents that either can’t leave their rooms, or don’t want to, get involved. We are sure they get fed up of the interactions with the staff so always nice for them to see an outside face.
