It was a super windy day carrying out our inspection in Polurrian today! 🌪️🌬️💨

We’ve had a few new followers recently so as an introduction here’s Jen from our team! She’s on the road carrying out site inspections (all over the U.K.) & assists with all H&S documentation. She may look a little windswept at times but no project is too big, too small, too far or too muddy to visit!! 👷🏼‍♀️

We spotted this seagull getting cosy in his nest on our site in Plymouth & thought we’d remind you of the steps to take if you have a similar issue……

Under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, it is generally an offence to intentionally damage or destroy an active nest, or to take or destroy eggs.

For a construction site, the usual approach is:

* Survey the area before work starts.
* If nests are active (eggs or chicks present), establish exclusion zones where necessary.
* Adjust work sequencing to avoid disturbing nests.
* Consider the risk of gulls dive-bombing workers, particularly during roofing, scaffold work, and access to roof plant.
* Seek ecological advice if works could affect nesting birds.

Temperatures reached 35 degrees here this week so make sure all your operatives stay safe in the heat. Lots of water, additional breaks & sunscreen. We can’t underestimate how difficult it is to work outdoors all day in such extreme temperatures…..and we want everyone to go home safe & sunburn free 😊

Beautiful views across to Salcombe from our new project in East Portlemouth. The existing property will be having a full refurbishment - internally & externally - but will still retain lots of traditional features (which we love!) And look at the view from the garden - absolutely stunning 🌊🌊🌊

Today’s site visit took us to London ahead of two exciting new projects commencing soon. The works will involve the refurbishment of fast-food chain premises in Paddington and Tooley Street.
