One birth preparation tip that many pregnant women don’t learn until it’s too late… 🤎

Preparing for birth isn’t just about packing your hospital bag.

It’s also about preparing your body.

One simple technique that may help is perineal massage.

When started from around 34–35 weeks in a low-risk pregnancy, perineal massage may help:
🤎 Improve the flexibility of the perineal tissues.
🤎 Reduce the risk of severe perineal tears, especially for first-time mothers.
🤎 Help you become more familiar with the stretching sensations that can occur during birth.

Every pregnancy is unique, so always speak with your midwife or healthcare provider before starting, especially if you have been advised against vaginal in*******se or have any pregnancy complications.

As a doula, I believe that informed mothers make empowered decisions.

The more you understand your body before labour, the more confident you can feel during birth.

🤎 Save this post for your third trimester.
🤎 Share it with an expecting mama.

Every new mom needs to hear this before she burns herself out… 🤎

Healing after birth isn’t about bouncing back—it’s about moving forward with grace.

Your body has done something extraordinary. Give yourself permission to recover, to rest, and to become this new version of yourself one day at a time.

Save this for the days you need the reminder, and share it with a new mama who deserves a little more grace. 🤎

Most parents mistake these as random baby movements… but they’re actually signs your newborn’s brain is developing exactly as it should. 🤍Did you know your newborn is born with amazing built-in reflexes that help them survive, feed, and grow?

From the Moro (startle) reflex to the Babinski reflex, these automatic movements are a normal part of healthy neurological development.

✨ Understanding these reflexes can help you:
• Feel more confident as a parent.
• Know what’s normal.
• Recognise when it’s worth speaking with your healthcare provider.

Every baby develops at their own pace, but learning these little milestones can make the newborn journey feel far less overwhelming.

đź’› Save this post so you can come back to it whenever you need reassurance.

📤 Share it with an expecting parent or new mum—you never know who needs this today.

Motherhood has a way of making even the strongest women question themselves.

If you’re a new mum wondering whether you’re doing enough, this is your reminder…

Your baby doesn’t need perfection.

They don’t need you to have all the answers.

They need your love.
Your presence.
Your comfort.
Your patience.
Your heart.

So, on the days when you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, or doubting yourself, remember this:

The fact that you care so deeply already says so much about the kind of mother you are.

Give yourself grace.

You’re learning.

You’re growing.

And you’re becoming exactly the mother your baby needs. 🤍

✨ If this encouraged you, leave a 🤍 in the comments and share it with a new mum who needs this reminder today

10 Things Nobody Told You About Postpartum Recovery – Part 1 🤎
Everyone prepares you for labour.

Almost no one prepares you for what happens after birth.

Here’s the first truth:

1. Recovery takes time.

Your body has spent months growing, carrying, and delivering your baby. Healing doesn’t happen overnight, and it certainly isn’t finished after six weeks for every mother.

Give yourself permission to recover at your own pace.

The second truth:

2. You are going to bleed after birth.

Whether you have a vaginal birth or a caesarean birth, postpartum bleeding (called lochia) is a normal part of recovery as your body sheds the lining of the uterus.

The bleeding usually changes over time—from heavier and bright red in the first few days to lighter pink, brown, and eventually a yellowish-white discharge before it stops. If you experience very heavy bleeding, large clots, a bad smell, or you feel unwell, contact your midwife or healthcare provider promptly.

Mama, your healing matters just as much as your baby’s wellbeing.

Be gentle with yourself.

Rest when you can.

Ask for help when you need it.

🤎 Which postpartum recovery surprise caught you off guard?

Share your experience in the comments—you might reassure another new mum that she’s not alone.

Having a Doula is very important, it’s more important if you do not have a certain birth partner or even someone you trust to show up and support you during pregnancy, child, postpartum or even loss related to pregnancy and childbirth..

You should choose the doula that you feel comfortable with,
Someone You can be vulnerable with and to..someone who you are confident will respect and represent you well…and you trust their judgement in their service..

List of questions to ask your Doula in post…
