Just repeating this due to this extreme heat!😎🌞
💦Its another hot one today. 🥵
Here are some simple and effective tips:
❄️ To Cool Yourself Down
Take cool (not icy) showers or baths.
Dampen a flannel or towel with cool water and place it on your neck, wrists, or ankles.
Keep a spray bottle of water in the fridge and mist your face and arms.
💧 Drink Plenty of Fluids
Sip water regularly throughout the day.
Eat cold foods with high water content, such as watermelon, cucumber, grapes, and salads.
Limit alcohol, as it can increase dehydration.
🏠 Keep Your Home Cool
Close curtains, blinds, and windows on the sunny side of your home during the day.
Open windows in the evening and overnight when the air is cooler.
Turn off unnecessary electrical appliances, as they generate heat.
👕 Dress for the Weather
Wear loose, lightweight, light-coloured clothing.
Choose natural fabrics such as cotton or linen.
🕒 Avoid the Hottest Times
Stay out of the direct sun between about 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Plan outdoor activities for early morning or evening.
👵 Check on Vulnerable People
Older adults, young children, and people with health conditions can be more affected by extreme heat. Make sure they have water and a cool place to rest.
🐱 Don't Forget Pets
Provide plenty of fresh water, shade, and cool resting areas. Avoid walking dogs during the hottest part of the day.
A simple trick before bed is to place a hot-water bottle filled with cold water, or a wrapped ice pack, near your feet to help you sleep more comfortably. 🌙❄️
