Congrats to Jenny and Michael for completing the 15k Inflatable Obstacle Challenge for Children in Care!🙌

The challenge which involves navigating a 15K course laden with giant inflatables is a new addition to our Mersey Care NHS Charity fundraising events portfolio and the feedback from Jenny and Michael is that it was a huge amount of fun!

Jenny Young who works as a Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust Administrator across Children's Community Nursing in Knowsley, said:

“It was so much fun, we did nothing but laugh – were both still covered in bruises but it was worth it for the laughs and to raise money for Children in Care."

Bake Off at the Bluebell Centre!🧁🍰🎂

Thank you so much to the Primary Care Mental Health Team for Knowsley who hosted their own event to celebrate 78 years of the NHS and 25 years of Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust - and raised £112 for Mersey Cares!

The event was held at the Bluebell Centre in Huyton, where the team baked an assortment of cakes and bakes which were enjoyed by staff as well as members of the public. They also hosted a raffle to raise additional funds.✨💙

Clinical Team Manager. Hannah Roberts, said:

“We are a small team, but all of our nurses got involved to bake goods including scones, Biscoff bake, fudge, brownies, school cake and biscuits. We had a lot of fun!"

Thank you so much to the team - we couldn't do what we do without fundraisers like this 🙏

From badminton sessions that bring communities together, to weekly walks helping new mums build supportive networks, and volunteers who can now meet year-round thanks to the installation of outdoor electricity in Peasley Cross Hospital's ‘secret garden’, Mersey Cares is proud to support a wide range of initiatives that enrich lives and boost wellbeing across the region. These opportunities are all made possible through charitable funding – and the kindness of our amazing supporters.

To mark International Day of Friendship (30 July), we're shining a light on some of these projects and the difference they make, helping people meet others, share experiences, and feel supported as part of their local community.

🌍✨ Happy World Nature Conservation Day! 🌿💚

A day to celebrate our planet’s beauty and its many natural wonders!

Our charity is proud to continue funding our Wellbeing Through Wildlife programme, a nature-based wellbeing initiative for NHS staff and volunteers Knowsley Safari. Through activities including mindfulness, animal feeding experiences and animal enrichment sessions, participants can improve their wellbeing while connecting with nature in a setting dedicated to wildlife conservation, research, biodiversity and community action.

The wellbeing sessions offer a great opportunity for staff to come together and take some time away from their day-to-day - and the feedback has been fantastic!
