MYTH: “I need a scan before I see a physio.”

Not necessarily! For many common aches, pains and injuries, a physiotherapist can assess you without you needing to have a scan or GP referral first.

We’ll talk through what you’re experiencing, look at how you move, assess the affected area and use our clinical expertise to work out what may be causing your symptoms and how best to help. If we feel that further investigation or a scan would be useful, we can advise you on the next steps.

So if you’re putting off booking because you think you need a scan first, you may not need one at all.

Make your aqua therapy more effective without putting more stress on your body. The water provides a naturally supportive, low-impact environment, while adding weights gives your muscles more resistance to work against.

As you get stronger, we can gradually increase the resistance to keep your exercises challenging and help you continue to progress. It doesn’t have to be a big change to make a difference. Small, gradual steps can play an important part in your recovery.

Ready to take your aqua therapy up a level?

Adding floats and resistance to your exercises can make your workout more challenging, helping you to build strength whilst still enjoying all the benefits of exercising in water.

At our Aqua Therapy sessions, based at Blackthorn Wellness in Bredhurst, we use the resistance of the water and equipment such as floats to help you get more from your exercises, all within a supportive, low-impact environment.

This August is Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Awareness Month. Whilst this can affect millions of people, it’s something that often goes unrecognised or misunderstood.

As a Women’s Health Specialist, Claire provides a safe, supportive and judgement-free space to talk about what you’re experiencing and understand your pelvic floor better. If you’re experiencing pelvic pain, tightness in your pelvic floor, urinary or bowel incontinence, or pain during in*******se, you don’t have to simply put up with it or feel embarrassed talking about it.

Together, we can work towards improving your symptoms, giving you the tools to support your pelvic floor and helping you get back to living your life with greater confidence and less worry. We offer one-to-one sessions with a tailored treatment plan, as well as a specialist POCUS service to assess how your muscles are working and provide appropriate support.

If something doesn’t feel right, it’s worth talking about. Book an appointment with Claire online at stayfitphysiotherapy.com
