We would like to inform you that Unite the Union has notified the NHS of a second phase of industrial action affecting Blood Sciences services.

The additional industrial action is scheduled to take place over a further 20 days across four consecutive weeks, following the conclusion of the current action, and is expected to continue until 7 August 2026.

During this period, some blood testing services may be affected. We are working closely with partner organisations to minimise disruption and ensure that urgent and essential services continue to be prioritised.

If you have an upcoming appointment or blood test, please attend as planned unless you are contacted directly and advised otherwise.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Should you have any concerns or require further information, please contact your healthcare provider

Unfortunately due to ongoing industrial action at both Royal Blackburn Hospital and Burnley General Hospital, routine tests have been postponed until Thursday 18th of June. This date is subject to change and we will provide you with further updates as soon as possible.
